At first the 8-in-1 FM Transmitter seems like the greatest purchase you've ever made. You've got this adjustable, padded iPod holder, shiny blue light-up display, and super sweet remote. It seems really hi-tech and useful. Then you plug in your iPod and try actually listening to your music. Big mistake.
This product's novelty will wear off really fast when you start listening to your music and realize the quality is borderline unbearable. I highly, highly recommend against purchasing this product. If you want clear, quality reception when listening to your iPod, buy the Monster iCarPlay. It's cheaper in price, and the quality is much better. Sure, it won't hold your iPhone or give you a fancy remote to show off to your friends, but the quality difference is distinct and important. The 8-in-1 sounds worse than a bad radio station, no matter what station you put it on. The iCarPlay had multiple stations that sounded crystal clear- stations that when chosen on the 8-in-1 sounded like complete garbage.
I wasted $50 on this product, and was so convinced by its shiny, sleek looks that it was a quality item, I chucked the packaging and can't return it now. Don't make my mistake.

Sentry Industries, Inc. HO700 Wireless Headphones with Transmitter Review

Sentry Industries, Inc. HO700 Wireless Headphones with Transmitter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was in the market for a set of headphones and saw these at the store for $9 and figured they were worth a try as I needed headphones in a hurry and could test out the wireless feature before I committed to a better set. The main reason I wanted to try wireless headphones is so I could watch television at night and not wake my girlfriend. For $9 I wasn't expecting much but at least wanted them to last me a few weeks/months and see if wireless was something I wanted to pursue.
After using the headphones for a few days I can say for certain they are not worth anywhere near the $9 price I paid. The headphones themselves are made of cheap plastic and are flimsy. The padding at the headband and earpieces my girlfriend accurately described as "tissue paper". One bout of sweat or travel in a backpack would do these headphones in. The quality of the sound is no better than the free pair would would get with a cheap CD player. Scratchy, quiet, inaccurate; just all around bad sound quality. Your Apple standard earbuds will provide better sound isolation and greatly improved sound quality. That being said, if they were able to transmit my TV audio to my bed 15' away it might be worth the cost, but it didn't even come close.
The RF transmitter states that it runs on DC adapter or 2 AAA batteries. There is no DC adapter and I doubt the batteries would give more than a few days of service. The headphones offer a scanning FM radio which functions by cycling through the FM band and stopping on what it feels is an in-tune station. The transmitter broadcasts on one of these FM bands so you have to continue to press the scan button until you find the desired audio. When using mine, the transmitter broadcast on a frequency I know to be a common radio frequency used in my and other cities, so unless i was within 3' of the transmitter the stronger signal from the local radio overshadowed the transmitter. So poor was the signal strength, if I turned my head with the headset on from ~5' away from the transmitter the audio would switch between the local radio and the transmitter. Additionally, because the headset is programmed to scan until it finds a station if there was static in the signal or even radio silence the headset would scan to the next avaliable station making continuous listening on the FM band sustainable for only about 10 spats.
I used this headset for 2 days before I purchased a new set here on Amazon and doubt if i'll continue to use them until my package arrives. This product does not work as intended and was a total waste at what should have been a value cost. Please save yourself the trouble and do not purchase this item.

Belkin Car Stereo Kit for iPod or iPhone in the Car with Tune Cast Auto, RockStar, and Dual USB Power Adapter Review

Belkin Car Stereo Kit for iPod or iPhone in the Car with Tune Cast Auto, RockStar, and Dual USB Power Adapter
Average Reviews:

This is my second Belkin Radio Adapter, the first being with a hard mount. While I enjoy it's mobility, the signal strength is painful, and driving through the city I have to search for the perfect channel or deal with dull, ambient static. The Clearscan feature is awful, and always reverts to the same station which is worse than the one I am using.
For the price, this is a decent adapter, but I would suggest spending a bit more money for a nicer one.

Sennheiser RS 140 Wireless HiFi Headphone with Dynamic Compression System Review

Sennheiser RS 140 Wireless HiFi Headphone with Dynamic Compression System
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Audio choices are obviously very personal, so I hesitate to recommend anything too strongly here. Tastes and tolerances differ so greatly, and wireless audio products really seem to push those differences. Maybe some of my needs and wants will match yours, maybe not, but please consider my thoughts here in light of the many personal qualifiers that I add. Those qualifiers may or may not relate well to your own situation. By the way, my apologies in advance for such a long review, but I really appreciate details when researching audio gear. I thought you might, too.
BACKGROUND
I'm about as picky as they come when sound is the issue. I have a small home recording studio and 30 years of experience as a semi-pro musician (jazz, rock, classical, country). That said, I approach every musical equipment purchase with thorough research and comparison. Since I already have good wired phones (Senn 280s, Audio Technica M50s, and others) in my studio, I wanted some wireless cans mostly for moving around the house and yard while listening to music from my home stereo system, kind of a self-indulgent luxury. I've read enough to know that any wireless models using a radio signal (the best type of signal if you'll be in a different room than the transmitter) will produce some hiss and pop on occasion. I accepted this fact before buying. Still, I decided I would not accept something else: poor sound quality, in a musical sense. Two of the sub-$200 phones with rather consistently high reviews (in magazines and online) were the Senn 130 and 140 models. So I ordered both models to compare them in the privacy of my home. (I paid about $115 for the RS-130 and $135 for the RS-140; be patient because the prices here fluctuate often.)
TEST EQUIPMENT
A 100-watt/channel JVC receiver and JVC CD player--both typical (low-end) home stereo components. To suit my personal tastes for EQ, I boosted some at 16 kHz (to add air to the highs) and at 60 Hz (to add depth to the lows).
FOR MUSIC NOT TV
I've used these cans mostly for listening to music, which usually masks any low-grade background noise. TV use, with its emphasis on dialogue, would be demanding in other ways, so I'd defer to other reviewers for feedback concerning that application.
POINT OF REFERENCE
The entry-level price for a decent set of wired (corded) cans is roughly $100. The price of these wireless Senns, especially the 130s, isn't much more.
LIKES
Musically, both models sound as good as I'd hoped except for their shy response at the extremes (see Test Equipment above). Still, when I've been wearing them while working outside, I sometimes have to stop what I'm doing, raise the volume, and just listen for a while. They sound that good. I wouldn't use them in my studio, but considering the low price and mobility, I'm very satisfied. As I'd read, the open-back 130s sound (and look) a bit like Senn's popular 580 audiophile (wired) model--open, smooth, warm, and most of all, pretty well balanced. The closed-back 140s have a similar sound, maybe a bit boxier, overall, as is typical of closed cans. I think that some folks (such as heavy rock n' rollers, rappers, computer gamers, the hearing impaired, and even office workers) might prefer the 140s for their enhanced isolation, but I found the 130s, which offer the spacious open-back sound that made Senn famous, to provide the flatest, truest sound, overall. After a lot of back and forth listening to verify my impressions, I kept the 130s. The 140s would be a perfectly acceptable alternative, though. The differences are minor.
Both models are cushy comfortable, and the features and controls are top-notch. I've never liked surround-sound simulations and the like, so I can't comment on that feature (130s). But I find everything very simple to use, and all works fine. Like easy? Hang these Senns up and they turn off and charge automatically. Press a button and they tune their reception and then memorize it, also automatically. The reception's very good, too, after I improved it significantly by moving the transmitter unit to a slightly higher shelf and trying the different freq-channel options. Remember this if you buy. Also remember to boost the source volume plenty so that the phones receive a strong signal. (By the way, I've read that you may experience greater interference noise if you live in a congested area, which I don't.)
DISLIKES
No review would be complete without some criticism and warning, so here's mine. Above all, choosing musical equipment involves personal tastes, which vary greatly, so try to listen before buying. Trust your own ears. If you do buy either Senn wireless model, you should expect some hiss and pop and hum at times, usually just when you move around, but almost certainly if you head outside or into another room far from the base unit. (The stated spec of "up to 150 meters" seems laughable.) You may even notice the sound strengthen and weaken on occasion. In this price range, at least, I think you'll need to accept such reception problems or else stay with wired cans. Period. Wireless freedom is never perfect, is it? Beyond that, I wish these cans were as snug-fitting as my Senn 280s, which grip my head tightly. These wireless phones are like light pillows, very comfortable since they sit 'around' the ears (not 'on' the ears), but I'd bet that some folks with smaller heads could find them to be a bit loose when walking around. And finally, another obvious point--bad or good, depending on your situation--is that the 130s (which I prefer in terms of smoother, truer sound) are open-air cans, meaning that you'll hear your family if in the same room. That's good for staying in contact but bad if you want to get away from outside noise. The closed 140s are certainly better for blocking out a barking dog or not disturbing a nearby loved one.
COMMENT ABOUT INTERFERENCE PROBLEMS
If you're not already totally sick of me, you can check out my reaction to the interference problems that some users report here. (Click on 'Comments' below.)
OVERALL
All in all, both models of these phones admirably meet my picky expectations although being realistic about the limits of low-cost wireless sound was a necessary starting point. Nah, these wireless phones aren't perfect, and they're certainly no match for good wired cans, but I think they offer impressive overall performance for $100 plus change. An enthusiastic '4 and a 1/2 stars' and a lot of brag from me. Well done, Senn. Happy listening, all.
P.S. TO ANYONE WITH HEARING LOSS
If you have reduced hearing, particularly in one ear, you should probably choose the RS-140 model. The addition of the closed back (for isolation), L-R balance control, and compression switch (to equalize the overall volume) could be helpful.
NEED MORE RESEARCH?
Head over to "Consumer Search" online for a master summary of pro and consumer reviews of wireless headphones, including these. (The Senns do very well.)
UPDATE
A quick 2009 update, more than three years of almost daily use later: no surprises, no regrets, and the original batteries are still kicking. I stand by my review fully. I did find one time that the headphones didn't work, but a quick jiggle of the audio input in the base unit brought them back to life. True, as some folks have noted, there is indeed annoying interference at times but usually just when moving around in another room or outdoors. That's only a minor limitation for me but clearly a deal-breaker for some people (although some of them, I suspect, haven't boosted the source volume enough). But the surprisingly good music quality and thoughtful design at this low price point is the real story here for me and my primarily musical needs. If you eventually decide to give the Senns a try, just be sure that you can easily return them if they don't fit your own needs and limits. I typically return about half of the audio equipment I buy, even after thorough research, and have learned the value of a simple return policy. Good luck to you.
DISCLAIMER (SUMMER 2010)
I notice that the price has nearly doubled since I wrote my review, and that would change things for me. If I had this much to spend on wireless cans, I'd likely opt for Senn's new RS-180 model instead.

Audiovox APS997 Remote Security System with 4-Mode Shock Sensor and Extended Range Remote Start (Prestige) Review

Audiovox APS997 Remote Security System with 4-Mode Shock Sensor and Extended Range Remote Start (Prestige)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I installed it myself (got the wiring diagrams for my car online), and you do need to be an intermediate level electrician (shade tree mech) or higher to read the diagrams. The keyless door entry was the toughest part to install, which for the novice installer may need help from the professionals and need more parts ($12 door relay not included). It took me two weekends to get the wiring right (remote start one day, door works properly in two days). Once working, it really "WOW!" me. Siren wakes the living dead. Shock sensor has great sensitivity (it can sense impact from a soft football to car). Temperature reader is built into module, and you can push a button on the remote that has LCD to view precise temp (F or C) in car. Can be programmed to remote start if temp drops below certain temps (to keep engine from freezing). 2nd remote has 5 buttons, 5th button is for a built in LED flashlight (almost blinding for a little thing). Nicely made tough, carbon fiber remotes. I've had a small problem with the remote start not working after 5 months, but Audiovox gladly replaced the module for me when I called and sent the module back. Hope the new module will last longer, and not a quality problem.

I first bought this item with the boombox.(big mistake)receiver was alway very hot to the touch after use.
After a little over a year(one year warrenty)it burnt out.
I replaced the receiver and after a little over another year, the sheild around the connection point for the antenna broke away. It could not see the antenna anymore.I then replaced the received a third time. It only worked for 3.5 hours, then went silent,it would not re-activate after that.
I have now returned it and bought the Stiletto 100 from Sirius. IT IS AWSOME!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!! Stay away from all X-act products. The service at X-act is even worse then their products.

Enjoy all 120 channels of Sirius satellite radio while driving in your car with XAct's XTR1CK plug-and-play vehicle kit. The XTR1 conveniently displays all artist, song, and channel information on its six-line readout, which also includes a satellite-updated real-time clock. Meanwhile, selecting channels and menu options is a snap thanks to the large, easy-to-access illuminated buttons. Audiovox Prestige APS620 Remote Start with Keyless Entry Review

Audiovox Prestige APS620 Remote Start with Keyless Entry
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have currently had this remote starter for a few months and I absolutely love it! The only disadvantage I found was the installation process. Because of its vast controls, of course it requires more connections. I am a certified technician and it took me approximately 8 hours to install the starter. I am very particular with electrical work so I'm sure that it could have been done in less time. I don't think that its range is as advertised due to the many obstructions such as other cars in the parking lot. Generally I've found that if you can see it in clear view, then it works. The wireless entry feature is a great upgrade for my older vehicle. I use the remote starter every morning to bring the vehicle up to op. temp. before I head to work. It runs for 15 mins before it shuts itself off so I don't have to worry it continually running. I love it for my purpose and it was certainly worth the money.

Boss FMMOD FM Modulator (Gray) Review

Boss FMMOD FM Modulator (Gray)

(More customer reviews)
The unit I recieved is quite diffent from the picture. 1. it does not come with female RCA cables coming out of it, -you have to plug directly on to the unit. and 2. there is no cable with a female cable end for the antenna, -you have to plug the antenna wire directly into the unit. I hope that when I install it the antenna cable reaches to wherever I mount the unit. A better technical description, and an accurate photo would have been nice.
It also does not operate well. I took my time and did a nice installation spending over 3 hrs on it. Sound quality is OK, but i have to more than double the volume on the radio for comperable volume to other stations. It is usless with any amount of wind noise- which there is a lot of in an old pick up. I should have just bought a new radio for the amount of time I spent- or a cassette adapter- NO installation for that!
Oh yeah- because it doesn not ship from Amazon, the shipping was an aditional $7 increasing the actual cost by 50%.

Samson AirLine Micro Earset Wireless System, N5 Band Review

Samson AirLine Micro Earset Wireless System, N5 Band
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I don't review much but we are regular customers of Amazon distributed products. We were very excited to see this product become available. Configuration and technology wise, it is a perfect solution for us to teach our fitness classes with.
**Update to this review on June 4, 2011. We had hoped the problem would get resolved but it has not. In fact, our 3rd headset just broke in the same way. I wish I could rate this lower than a 1. You could not pay us enough to buy another Samson product. They do not return calls, we cannot get our money back. They do repair the product but that takes over 90 days. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT OR FROM THIS COMPANY!
For 8 weeks it performed perfectly. Easy to use and great sound quality.
Week 8 the ear clip broke. We contacted Samson for repair. We got sent to a third party and they provided an RMA. Sent in entire set but could not get an indication of when we would expect it back.
We purchased a 2nd set.
8 weeks later, we had not seen the original set and the 2nd set broke in exactly the same place - seems it is a common problem.
We contacted Samson again, inquired as to status of our first set and if they were doing anything to remedy the chronic issue. No response. 2 more contacts, 2 more times for them to ignore us.
We have purchased 2 sets in 4 months, we don't know where one is and the other is broke. We are not excited about sending it into the service black hole.
We will find another solution. A simple call and some customer service from Samson could have made this a completely different experience.
Suggest you buy 2 or 3 of these if you plan to purchase so you can keep them rotated.

Miccus BluBridge Auto-Talk: Solar-Powered, Bluetooth Hands-Free Carkit with Talk-to-You Announcement.
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've never been a fan of DWP (Driving While Phoning), whether it's me or the other guy. Let's face it, it's distracting. No matter how many times I hear people insist they can handle it, most of the time I'm stuck behind or cut off by someone, it turns out that person has a phone stuck to their ear.
But now that everyone and their granny has a cell phone, mobile yammering is here to stay, and any attempts to legislate or regulate it will be roughly as successful as putting toothpaste back in the tube. The best we can hope for is to mitigate the distraction factor a bit by getting everyone to use some type of hands-free device.
But hands-free stuff is a hassle. Wired headsets get tangled, lost, broken or subjected to the "I'm just in the car for a few minutes" cop-out. And BlueTooth headsets are quickly becoming the pocket protectors of the 21st century - a fashion accessory only geeks want to wear.
The best solution, hands down, is BlueTooth integrated into your car. It's literally a no-brainer - get in the car, your BT-enabled phone and the car silently shake hands and get to work. Get out of the car, your phone's back on its own. Ever since getting a car with BlueTooth a few months ago, I can't imagine being without it. Unfortunately, I have to do more than imagine, because I'm often relegated to driving my wife's car, a primitive 2008 model without BT.
But the folks at Miccus have come up with an exceptionally cool, gotta-have-it device called the BluBridge Auto-Talk that makes any car a BT-equipped ride. It's about the size of a closed flip phone, and is one of those little pieces of tech that was obviously designed by people who were paying attention to detail.
The first two rules for any device designed for use while driving should be simplicity and non-distracting. The BluBridge comes with a clear plastic cradle that sticks to the windshield with suction cups, placing it easily within reach. The basic functions of answering and making a call can be handled via a single Big Button that's easy to push without taking your eyes off the road. Bravo. And the sound is far better than I expected from such a miniscule device.
It's got a whole bunch of more intricate features too, including multilingual text-to-speech announcement ("call from two-one-two......"), voice dialing capability (if your phone supports it), and it'll even download your phone's contact list. Set these functions up once, and after that you only need the Big Button.
For me, my number one challenge with in-car devices is remembering to keep them charged. My number two challenge is keeping all those charger wires out of the way. The Miccus folks thought of that too. The back side of the BluBridge is outfitted with a small solar panel. So while it's sitting there stuck to your windshield, it's sucking up the sun and staying charged. Clever. And with a talk time of 800+ hours, even the most overcast environment should keep it charged.
The BluBridge is hands down one of the coolest and most cleverly designed gadgets I've gotten my hands on this year. It's my number one choice for stocking stuffer this holiday season. If more people got one for Christmas, the roads would be a whole lot safer.

Archos FM Remote for Archos 5 and 7 Internet Media Tablets (Black) Review

Archos FM Remote for Archos 5 and 7 Internet Media Tablets (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Note: When I first purchased this accessory, it did not work until later when I updated my firmware. Only then did it become functional.
In one sense, this is a slick and versatile little accessory for your Archos IMT. It does allow you limited control over your MP3's and also the ability to listen to the radio as well as record voice memos. This is an imaginitive and inexpensive add-on to add to your collection.
However, now I can't remember why I bought this: I rarely listen to the radio, and if I wanted to do that I could buy one for ten bucks or so instead of using the biggest and best media player available. If I wanted a voice recorder, there are far smaller such gadgets available. I guess it's just cool that the FM Remote can do these things, and isn't the primary reason you buy an IMT. It simply increases its versatility, which is already great.
Two things to keep in mind:
1) When the FM Remote is plugged in, the IMT's built-in speakers disengage, so you will have to use headphones or MP3 speakers. Fortunately, the FM remote also has a headphone jack at the top.
2) The FM Remote cable is only slightly longer than the length of an average adult arm, which means that anything you could use the remote to do, you could also just reach over and interface directly with the Archos anyways. Ergo, the Remote isn't really that remote.
All in all, it is ok.

First, I'd like to comment on XM Radio in general: I love it! I have a rather long drive to work and it's wonderful to listen to music without interruption. It's great not to hear any commercials (I have no idea what the local car dealers etc. are up to now that I'm immune to their ads). Another XM service I use daily is the traffic report. Never having to wait for a local station to broadcast the traffic conditions is very helpful. I'm still learning all the channels and keep finding new ones that I like. Regarding the XR9, I like it alot (although it's my first XM radio receiver so I have nothing to compare it to). It has a nice large display with a few different options as to how information is shown. It also will show sports scores and stock prices and so far has been really easy to program. The blue display is cool looking (although a choice of colors would be nice). I think the text on the display is much nicer than on other XM receivers I looked at. At first I had my XR9 receiver hooked up using the built in wireless transmitter which transmits the stations from the XR9 to the car's radio. DON'T DO THIS. The sound quality using the wireless feature was horrible (it sounded really tinny like bad AM radio) and there was alot of interference from over the air stations (I'd imagine that this would be a problem in most metropolitan areas with alot of on air stations). I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT USING THE WIRELESS FEATURE. After a week, I had the receiver direct wired to my radio and the difference was incredible. Now, the stations come in perfectly clear and sound as good as my FM stations or CD's. Another feature that I'm not in love with is the flat buttons. Since I use this receiver in my car, I find it somewhat difficult to change the stations sometimes because the buttons are flat and don't stick out of the receiver. I find myself sometimes hitting more than one button at a time. The "1" and the "0" are especially tricky to push sometimes since they curve around the side of the receiver. Those few features aside, I don't mean to sound negative about the reciver. It looks great in my car and now that it is hard wired, it sounds fantastic too. I like the display and its viewing options. Also, there are a few other options (like the alarm) available that I haven't yet used which I'm sure will add to my enjoyment of this product.

Onkyo UWL1S Wireless USB Audio Transport (White) Review

Onkyo UWL1S Wireless USB Audio Transport (White)

I have had wires between my computer sound card and home stereo over under around and through furniture for years. I had no way to hide them in the walls. All the while I have spent hours looking for just this device. Simple to hook up, works great! Took longer to roll up all the wire than to connect the UWL1S and start listening. I saw other brands that implied they could do this but they were mostly no names to me and looked more complicated than this needed to be so I did not trust them. Onkyo hit the nail on the head with this product. I have hundreds of CD's stored on my computer I use Windows Media Player and this works GREAT! I have playlists for all my moods that I have saved over the years and can now listen to them without wires laying everywhere! Quality of sound, and amplification level is good I have no issues at all. I think it might cut the very top and very bottom of crispness off just a little but nobody will notice unless you are in a 'studiofile' mood, sitting still, alone in the sweet spot and in a quiet house. I can still use my CD player for that mode. This transmits through one wall and my stereo is approx 40 feet away from that. Clear, easy, fun, Thank you Onkyo!

SIRIUS SV3-TK1 Stratus Plug-and-Play Satellite Radio Receiver with Car Kit Review

SIRIUS SV3-TK1 Stratus Plug-and-Play Satellite Radio Receiver with Car Kit
Average Reviews:

The kit itself is simple to install and setup took only a few minutes. However, the FM transmitter on the unit is not as good as previous units I've had as it only goes down to 88.1. I live near D.C. and it is almost impossible to find a frequency without something being transmitted on it. My old unit transmitted down to the low 87's and I had no trouble tuning in. It also seems like the transmitter is too week to transmit over even partial signals (a guess a compromise for the small size of it). So I ordered the FM Direct Adapter to see if that helps. It would have been nice if Sirius had included this in their car kit as anybody that lives near a city is likely to need it.

Dakota Alert Kit (1) MAPS and (1) M538-BS Review

Dakota Alert Kit (1) MAPS and (1) M538-BS
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Had mixed results at first, but very satisfied in the end (the MURS Alerts are the only Wireless Alerts that reliably work beyond 500ft !). I use them for both Wild Game detection and driveway notification.
My story ==> I bought 2 of the original "Reporter Alerts" about 5yrs ago, they worked fine for about 3yrs up to about 500ft. After 3yrs one of the PIR transmitters failed because of corroded batteries, so I bought 3 new reporter transmitters. By then Reporter had been sold to Chamberlain and the 3 new PIR Transmitters were ALL total junk (worked to about 50ft, if you were lucky... total trash...). So, I gave up on reporter/Chamberlain, although I still use the one old unit that just keeps on working.
Last year I purchased 2 Dakota WR3000 units with 2 extra PIR transmitters (4 total). Two transmitters worked to about 300ft and two worked to about 50-100ft. I used them for 1 year but have been very unsatisfied with the reliability of detection/transmission. So, I just bought 1 MURS Base Station, 1 MURS Probe, 1 MURS PIR Transmitter. Initially I had 2 problems, the Base Station Relay connection did not work - which I wire to my house door bell, and the MAPS probe started giving me false Alerts after about 15 mins, but the PIR Transmitter worked great for both detection and transmission anywhere on my thick hilly property within about 1/4mile (1500ft) of the Base Station in my garage. So, I immediately returned the BS+MAPS unit for exchange/replacement from the supplier AutoBarn.
AutoBarn sucked for the exchange. They answer the phone, but their constant delay/excuse tactics took 3 weeks until I got a new unit. I will NEVER buy anything from AutoBarn again.
The new BS relay worked fine, but the MAPS unit had the same problem (false Alerts after about 15mins of power-on). So, I called Dakota Alerts directly. The Dakota customer support folks are outstanding ! They answer the phone on 1-3 rings and make it clear they stand by their products and want to make it right. They immediately offered a new replacement unit (wanted to send the new one, then I would return the old one, to save time). I finally found my problem (my fault, bad batteries, how embarrassing...). So, I immediately E-Mailed Dakota and cancelled the 2nd exchange (Stupid Customer here !). In the end, both the MURS MAPS and PIR transmitter work great ! I am very satisfied with both units and very impressed with the DakotAlerts support team. They even convinced me to return the 4 older WR3000 transmitters, so they could check/replace them.
In summary, the MURS Alerts work great, the DakotaAlert support team is outstanding, and AutoBarn customer support sucks ! I gave 4stars to this product, only because of the AutoBarn return experience, the Dakota MURS gets 5-Stars.
