SanDisk Sansa Fuze 8 GB Video MP3 Player (Silver) Review

SanDisk Sansa Fuze 8 GB Video MP3 Player (Silver)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
What I really like about it is the size, capacity, and most of all price.
The codec support is about average, not great but it satisfies my needs as 99% of my music is encoded in mp3 format.
One of my dislikes is common among all sandisk mp3 players(and most other players) is that the charging/syncing port is proprietary. Not a big issue, mini-usb would have been nice though.
Video playback was smooth(used a mp4 350MB recorded tv show) no sync problems between the audio/video and no stuttering. Too small to really be considered for video playback though.
Picture viewing is about the same as video and by that I mean it works great and the pictures look ok but the screen is so small it is not practical to show off pics with it.
Voice recording works well, don't have to hold it directly to my face to clearly record sounds...although I'm not sure what this can be used for but it is there and works well.
The radio works great, easy station browsing, easy to add stations to presets, and reception is very clear.
The sound is very accurately produced at all ranges. The included headphones fit well and sound good. The volume goes up much higher than I could ever think I would need it. For those of you who are runners, I use the earphones that come with it and they direct the sound very well into my ears so I do not have to make it too loud and can still hear some of the environmental sounds: wind noise is hardly noticeable.
The screen is easy to see in all light conditions, bright, and easy to read.
The build quality feels great. It has generous weight to it, light enough to take running and not really notice it but heavy enough to give it a solid feel. The front of the device is a bit shiny and does tend to attract fingerprints easily but not scratches so far.
Expansion port works great, currently using a 4GB microsdhc to shuttle podcasts/audiobooks between it my pc.
Navigation is a breeze and the menus are very intuitive, the scroll wheel/buttons are easy to find and press even with the player not in sight.
Syncing I very easy to do without the need for bloated software. You can add media to it via a file explorer(drag & drop) or one of several media players like WMP, winamp, and a variety of others. The datbase is auto-updating and works flawlessly. I have seen a few reviews that say the database refresh takes a while. With a completely full internal memory and half full 4gb card my refreshes only take 15-30 seconds.
A few final notes. The boot-up is about 3-5 seconds from off to playing music after pressing the power button. It will resume the music exactly where you left it when turning it off. Actual usable memory is about 7.8 GB. 4 1/2 out of 5 stars, best on the market right now but not perfect of course.
UPDATE: 2 new "cons" I have come across. Technically the device is performing as intended but I am hoping for a firmware update to "resolve" these.
1. When scrolling, the speed of scrolling does not increase. Basically takes forever if the song you want is in the second half of the alphabet. This will probably be changed in the next firmware update though.
2. The podcasts are sorted by most recent first. This kind of makes since so you dont have to scroll to the bottom to listen to the newest one but it also causes a problem if you are trying to listen to a series in order and it starts playing through them backwards. :( Probably no "fix" for this issue although being able to choose how it is sorted would be great.

Compact Powerhouse X10 Plug-In RF Wireless Tranceiver Module TM751 Review

Compact Powerhouse X10 Plug-In RF Wireless Tranceiver Module TM751
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
People familiar with the X-10 technology know that in the USA the 110v wiring is derived from a 220v input that is split. Often part of the house is wired to one leg and the rest of the house is wired to the other leg. The X-10 signal can't jump from one leg to another leg without the help of some capacitor or X-10 bridge.
Two sides of my living room are on different legs. Side 1 was on the controller leg and worked fine. Side 2 wouldn't work. I placed Compact Powerhouse X10 Plug-In RF Wireless Tranceiver Module TM751 into Side 1 of the living room and another one into Side 2. Now X-10 control modules work on both sides of the room with the X10 HR12A 16 Device Palm Pad Remote Control for X10 Receivers.
I call this a poor man's bridge. Real X-10 bridges cost 10 times as much.

Garmin nĂ¼vi 765/765T 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator (Factory Refurbished) Review

Garmin nĂ¼vi 765/765T 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator (Factory Refurbished)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Garmin with NavTeq maps is the way to go. Nearly perfect routing. Reliable maps. Very solid combination generally. This particular unit is an excellent combination of features and, as a refub, a stunning value.
The features that allow this device to stand out from most other Garmins are these: (1) Instant on and instant navigation when turned back on where it was turned off. (2) Lane assist in major cities in some intersections. (3) Multiple stops (Via Points) from your starting point to your destination (many Garmins don't do this). (4) Lifetime traffic. You have to put up with small, rather inconspicuous ads now and again, but it's really no big deal. (5) There is no antenna to extend. It's built into the base unit. (6) It's really, really sensitive. Really. Sensitive. Works great. (7) There are transparent images of large buildings and structures that aid somewhat in navigation but even more, are entertaining and interesting.
You really can't go wrong.
What does it lack? (1) Most notably, voice recognition. (2) MSN services, but that is scheduled to be shut off for lack of interest anyway.* (3) A way to turn off the navigation to carry it around listening to the MP3 player when you're out of the car. It's constantly finding GPS signals in the grocery store and announcing when it's lost the signal in the store. I certainly don't need that and certainly don't need the battery being drained trying to GPS while I'm in Barnes & Noble. It would be nice to be able to turn the GPS off while using other features, like the MP3 player and Audio Book player. (5) The FM transmitter that assists using the GPS and MP3 player with the car stereo is apparently as strong as the FCC permits, but it's still not strong enough to overcome competing stations in the city. It's just not a good connection. Too much noise. Some FM transmitters do better, and I've actually plugged my Garmin GPS's audio output into Belkin FM transmitters that seem to do a better (but still not great) job. (6) It doesn't have Europe on it. Just all of North America.
These really are niggling complaints. It's a great unit. I'm loving the instant on. didn't realize how much I'd like that until I got it.
[...]
Since I liked the first one so much, I bought two more. One for my wife and one for another vehicle. My views have not changed. This is really, really the right product for me. Highly recommended.

This is a refurbished GPS. Refurbished generally means that the unit has been returned to the manufacturer, who brings the navigator back to like new conditions. Some GPS may contain cosmetic blemishes.
Garmin continues to build up its nuvi 7xx series portable GPS navigators with its nuvi 765T, which adds a number of handy routing and communication features to an already impressive list of specs, including a 4.3-inch widescreen display, text-to-speech capabilities, media player, and FM transmitter for transmitting audio--including directions and MP3 music and audiobooks--from the device to your car radio.

New to the nuvi 7x5 lineup is Garmin's HotFix satellite prediction (which locates your position quickly and precisely), Lane Assist (which provides lane guidance and junction views when possible), automatic time zone transitioning, and 3D Building views as well as Garmin Connect Photos to help you visually ascertain your position. Additionally, the nuvi 765T includes Bluetooth connectivity to your cell phone and free real-time traffic updates from Navteq (for the life of the device) via the included GTM 20 traffic receiver.

As with all nuvis, you get Garmin reliability, the fast satellite lock of an integrated high-sensitivity receiver, a slim, pocket-sized design with a gorgeous display, an easy, intuitive interface, and detailed NAVTEQ maps for North America (United States, Canada and Puerto Rico) with more than 6 million name-searchable points of interest. The Garmin nuvi 7x5 line features three other models--check out their spec highlights at the right and click here to see a quick, simple comparison of features for all Garmin nuvi GPS navigators.

The bright, 4.3-inch touchscreen display gives is anti-glare for ease of viewing during the day and automatically changes its color profile for easy viewing at night or in dim light. It offers 2d or 3D perspective views. The widescreen format gives you 70 percent more actual screen area than a 3.5-inch screen. Primarily this translates into a better view of the area through which you are driving. This is especially useful in showing you what parks, restaurants, ATM, gas stations, etc. are nearby, or in letting you know whether a detour is a good idea. Also, the device itself is larger, meaning controls on the screen are more widely spaced and somewhat easier to push.

The nuvi 765T comes preloaded with highly detailed City Navigator NT road maps from Navteq for the entire United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. This map database features nearly six million points of interest (POIs), including hotels, restaurants, gas stations, ATMs, and attractions. Garmin's interface is a key to their success and one of the things that makes their devices such a pleasure to use. Simple controls and sub-screens make it easy to enter or search for destinations and get data about your trip.

Garmin's patent pending theft prevention system that disables the unit from performing any functions until the user types in a specific 4-digit PIN or takes the unit to a predetermined secure location.

Important Product Information: This device features a "screen lock" feature. This is a standard feature on all nuvi 2x5 and 7x5 Garmin units. If you slide the "Power" key to the right, it will lock the screen and prevent any accidental touches. Once the screen lock feature is engaged, the screen will go black/gray after about 15 seconds to save power on the device. To unlock the screen, just slide the "Power" key to the center position. This feature is really targeted for "Pedestrian" mode so that a user can put the device in his or her pocket/purse and quickly unlock the screen instead of powering on/off continuously. For more information, see page 5 of the product manual.

Lane Guidance With the new Lane Guidance feature built into the nuvi 7x5 series, you'll never question which lane you should be driving in again. It provides you with a view of what lane you should be in for upcoming turns. And with the 3D Lane Assist Junction View, you'll be able to see a photo-realistic screen that shows you both the road detail as well as the signs as you will see them on the road. The signs that aren't needed for navigation are faded compared to the appropriate lane signage.

Integrated Traffic Receiver Steer clear of traffic with an integrated GTM 20 FM traffic receiver designed to receive alerts about traffic tie-ups and road construction that might lie ahead on your route. No subscriptions or additional hardware needed. Just open the box, turn it on, and get instant access to traffic information--the traffic updates are free for the life of the device.

All you have to do is simply touch the screen to view traffic details and you'll be ready to detour around any problem area. And if you end up missing a turn, or you're forced into a detour that is not relayed through the traffic receiver, the nuvi's sophisticated automatic routing will get you back on track in no time. Watch informational video

In most areas, the traffic broadcasts are continuous--there's no waiting for scheduled traffic news updates or random alerts. Because traffic broadcasts are received via a "silent" FM data channel, you can still listen to music or news programming on your car radio without interference from incoming FM traffic data transmissions.

Hands-Free Calling In more and more places, it is becoming illegal to use cell phones while driving without a hands-free kit. WIth Bluetooth capability, microphone and speaker, you can match your nuvi to any Bluetooth-capable phone to make hands-free mobile phone calls. Simply dial the phone number with the nuvi's touch screen keypad to make a call on a compatible phone. To answer an incoming call, just tap the screen and speak into the built-in microphone. Making and taking calls on the road has never been easier, or safer. In addition, Garmin makes it a breeze to look-up and dial numbers from your personalized phone book or even tap into your cell phone's call history log.

HotFix Satellite Prediciton Garmin's HotFix capability automatically calculates and stores satellite locations, greatly reducing satellite acquisition time so that you can turn the unit on and get going. With HotFix, your nuvi remembers the position of all satellites it is tracking when you turn it off, and calculates their movements in order to predict where they should be the next time you turn it on. HotFix can predict satellite positions for up to 3 days after the device was last turned off.

Multi-Destination Routing This lets you enter several spots into the device (day care - supermarket-cleaners - office - day care, for example) and it will plot the fastest route. And once you've found the best router, the "Route Planning" feature lets you save up to 10 different routes, Garmin touts the feature for providing, "the most efficient route for errands, deliveries and sales calls." The feature also makes this an instant essential accessory for anyone who shops garage sales (you know what we're talking about). A trip log provides an electronic bread crumb trail of up to 10,000 points, so you can see where you've been on the map.

Where Am I? Where's My Car? The nuvi 7x5 series is the first to answer two common questions: "Where am I?" and "Where's my car?" At any time, with a single tap of the screen, drivers can display their exact latitude and longitude coordinates, the nearest address and intersection, and the closest hospitals, police stations and gas stations. And to help drivers find their car in an unfamiliar spot or vast parking lot, all nuvi 7x5s automatically mark the position in which they were last removed from the mount.

Navigate by Photo with Garmin Connect Photos

Other Features

The 3D Buildings feature is able to reference the buildings displayed on the map as well. Some buildings will be grey images "extruded" from the map, other buildings will be life like representations of the actual property.
With Automatic Time Zone Transition, you'll never have to remember to set the time as you travel. When the unit acquires a position fix, it automatically sets the unit to the correct time zone.
MP3 player compatible with audiobook playback
JPEG picture viewer
FM transmitter plays voice prompts, MP3s, audio books, and more, directly through your vehicle's stereo system
Compatible with optional content plug-ins available via SD card, such as the Garmin Travel Guides and Garmin SaversGuide, which provide detailed data for attractions and information on nearby merchants offering discounts.
Add custom points of interest (POIs) from third parties such as school zones and safety cameras
Travel tools: World travel clock with time zones, currency converter, measurement converter, calculator and more

What's in the Box nuvi 765T preloaded with maps of North America (United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico), vehicle suction cup mount, Vehicle power cable, USB cable, Dashboard disc, Quick start manual
Notes:

Average Reviews:

The product worked as advertised. I was able to set it up in seconds for the blue tooth option. since I don't use the FM radio in my van I did not set up the FM transmitter. I can hear other people just fine and I have not heard anyone say they can't hear me or ask me to repeat myself. Only 1 little glitch after a month of using it. It did disconnect and reconnect once but I think i passed someone else using the same frequency which caused it. The price here was 20% cheaper that Best Buy and it was delivered free. I would recommend this product to all of my friends.

Monster iEZClick Remote Control for iPod (Black) Review

Monster iEZClick Remote Control for iPod (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have never reviewed a product on Amazon before, but after using this product for just one day, I felt compelled to warn potential buyers about its fatal flaws. The idea behind this product is great, but it works so erratically that it simply renders it not only unusable, but borderline dangerous. I took mine skiing today. Tomorrow I'm returning it.
The major problem with the device is that the iPod does not respond to the commands from the remote reliably. Most of the time you have to press the skip track or play/pause button repeatedly for the iPod to acknowledge the command. I'm talking like upwards of 10 times from a foot away.
Perhaps the worse manifestation of the aforementioned reliability bug is the volume issue. Many other reviewers have touched on this topic, and I am here to say it is as bad as they declare. When the iPod receives the volume "up" or "down" command, often times it shoots the volume to maximum. Good luck getting it lowered quickly before your eardrums burst, especially if like me, you are wearing earphones under a helmet or ski mask and cannot quickly pull them out. Usually what happens next is the volume shoots all the way down to mute (if it ever responds). My ears are literally still ringing from this happening twice on the slopes today. Wow, great product.
Finally, the little connector that plugs into the iPod and acts as a receiver unit has a tendency to come partly loose. This appears to be happening from tension on the headphone plug being exerted onto the receiver unit. I use Shure E2c headphones with a 3rd Gen Nano, and the jack for the headphones on the Nano is so close to the dock connector (and subsequently the receiver unit), that if the plug of the headphones twists at all (as it may do if it's in your pocket), it nudges the receiver unit out of the iPod. This may or may not account for the iEZClick's extremely erratic behavior, as I did experience the erratic behavior while the receiver unit WAS still fully plugged into the iPod.
So to sum everything up, this device does not work as advertised, doesn't reliably respond to commands, comes apart in your pocket and has a tendency to shoot dangerously high decibels into your ears.

This device is the best thing since sliced bread. I had an ear piece I used to have to put on in the car, never could get used to using it. For people that have limited hearing in one ear, with a normal bluetooth device you can not hear the radio in the car. So, you have to take it off and put it on and that is not helping your driving abilities. This device is so easy to use just pop it int hte car & turn it on, NO instilation and it tells you when you get a call and
who it is from. I LOVE THIS!

Sylvania SYL-WH930GB Wireless Headphones (Black) Review

Sylvania SYL-WH930GB Wireless Headphones (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
When you can get these wireless headphones to actually connect, they work fairly well, although they can suddenly disconnect for no reason, and if I turn my head so that it faces my cordless phone base, they get a loud buzz. The sound quality is fine for TV programs. But the main problem is GETTING them to connect: EACH and EVERY time you turn them on you have to "synch" them with the transmitter that's connected to the TV. This involves pressing the "Scan" & "Reset" buttons repeatedly, often for several minutes, before you hear anything other than loud static. This means you need to turn them on & start pushing buttons 4 minutes ahead of time, or you will miss the beginning of things. And don't even think of turning them off during commercials to save battery life! The transmitter requires batteries as well as the headphones, so if you forget to turn IT off when you're done, you'll be out of luck next time. The transmitter DOES have a power jack, but YOU have to find & buy an appropriate power adapter, adding to their cost. Sometimes these allow me to walk into the next room & keep listening, but sometimes they lose the connection while I'm sitting still 4 ft. away. Definitely not worth the trouble!

Xtreme Technologies Xlink BT Bluetooth Gateway (Black) Review

Xtreme Technologies Xlink BT Bluetooth Gateway (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I heard about the Xlink on the Daily Giz Whiz podcast with Leo LaPorte and Dick DeBartolo ( www.gizwizbiz.com ) The concept intrigued me, and seemed very timely as by wife and I had been talking about disconnecting our home phone line. Note that I got the standard Xlink version. As I understand it, this version is meant to be used an a home phone lines THAT ARE NOT CONNECTED TO THE OUTSIDE PHONE SYSTEM. The "N" version is made for that purpose. We had just canceled our home phone service since it had been out for a week and the provider was unresponsive. I went out side to the telephone junction box and unplugged my home phone lines from the outside service lines. Not difficult, but many people may not know how to to this. The safe way is to get the N version, which is just a little bit more expensive.
I checked out the product on line, and based on generally positive reviews, ordered the product. To my amazement the product arrived the next day. And I only paid for regular 3- 5 day service. I had ordered early enough the previous day that it shipped the same day from a local warehouse. We're off to a good start. If this thing works "as advertised" this will be great.
The product set up was dummy proof. The first thing they want you to do is to upgrade the firmware. It is probably a good idea, but my unit turned out to be up to date. The procedure was simple none the less. A disk is in the box, and you just pop it into your Windows PC. I can't remember if they had a Mac version, and if not that might be a minor problem. However, as I mentioned, my unit arrived with the most recent firmware version.
Anyway, a small program installed and told me what to do. 1 plug in a standard USB cord to the unit and the PC. Now here is the first problem. The USB cable is not provided. It's a standard PC to Printer type, a wide flat plug for the pc end and a smaller square plug for the Xlink unit (again if you don't have it, just skip this step)
Then they have you plug in the power to the Xlink. The PC and the unit talk, and a dialog box pops up. Just follow the directions. It checks the website for the current firmware version, and allow you to customize a bunch of things. I found that the standard ring patterns and settings worked just fine.
The unit allows you to connect up to 3 bluetooth enabled phones, each with a distinctive ring pattern. A phone is paired with the unit by putting your phone in discovery mode (refer to you phone's manual on how to do that) and then press and hold one of the three blue buttons on the top of the xlink. It will flash for a while, and you phone will "see" the Xlink. You select the XLink on you phone (it may be called "unknown audio device" or something simiar) and then it asks you for the bluetooth password. A recent firmware upgrade changed the default password from "1234" to a much more common "0000" code. A few seconds later the units are paired, and the button that was flashing goes solid, indicating that the units are paired. The other two buttons show go dark. Now, when ever you get with in about 30' of the unit, you phone and the unit pair up automatically, and when you cell phone rings, you can answer it from any of your home phones. Big deal, you say. I always have my cell phone with me. Really? When do you charge it? Now no matter where you are, if you have a phone extension you can pic up you cell.
What is really cool is that you can connect up to 2 more bluetooth cell phones, and each one has a distinctive ring so you can tell who's phone is ringing. My phone ring with one long repeating ring while wife's rings with two shorter repeating rings (RRIINNGGG......RRIINNGG vs Ring, ring.......Ring, ring) A third will ring with 3 short rings.
When each of the paired phones is out of range the corresponding blue button on the XLink blinks. When the phone is in range, the blue button goes solid.
Note that when one or more of the cell phones are in range, when you pick up any extension, you will get a standard dial tone. You just dial like you normally would. It is no different that having POTS (plain old telepone service) If none of the cell phones are in range and you do not have home phone line service, the line is dead. This could be a problem if you and your spouse go out and the babysitter want to make a call and doesn't have a cell phone. Fat chance of that now a days, but that is a down side of no phone service. Also note that 911 might not work right, and your fire/burglar alarm won't notify the monitoring center if it went over your POTS. (New cell based fire/burglar alarms are available for this) If you don't disconnect you home phone line service this doesn't apply.
The down sides.
The range for static free calls is fairly short, about 10 feet. The unit will pair over about 30 feet, but the calls are a bit noisy. This works well for us since we have the Xlink unit in the center of our kitchen/family great room area, and this is where we store and charge our cell phones, well within the 10 feet range. I'm not sure what the real usable range is, since we don't stretch it too much.
If you don't have POTS, remember the follwing: It may not call 911 properly. Check with your local 911 service. Also remember about the fire/burglar alarm monitoring service. If one of the paired cell phones is not in range the phone lines don't work. Guests, baby-sitters, etc may be confused, esp in a emergency. Depending on you cell phone, if you take a cell call directly on the cell phone when it is paired with the Xlink, it may break the pairing and it may not immediatly reconnect, leaving the phone line "dead."
The unit is set up to use the first available paired cell phone when making a call from a phone extension. If you have more than one phone, the phone paired with button 1 will be used for outgoing calls. If phone one is not in range, it will pick the next available paired phone in range (assuming you have paired more than one) This could create problems with driving a phone over the monthly minute allotment unexpectedly. It is not a problems for us as we have a shared minute family plan, so it's all the same. There is a way to select which cell phone will be used to place out going calls, but we don't bother.
I'm going to assume that if you keep your POTS in place and have the compatible system, outgoing calls will always go out on the POTS, so only incoming calls will drive minutes, so there is really no difference from just answering your cell directly, except for being a lot more convenient.
Note that sometimes there is a bit of a delay when answering a cell call on a phone extension. I don't know if that's a problem with the XLink or just our cell service as we get a delay when answering direct now and then.
Overall I'm very satisfied and very impressed. Highly recommended.

Next Generation 3-EYE Infrared Remote Control Extender Emitter Cable Review

Next Generation 3-EYE Infrared Remote Control Extender Emitter Cable
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This triple IR emitter (Next Generation 3-EYE Triple IR Mouse Emitter) solves the only problem I had with the Next Generation remote extender (Next Generation Remote Control Extender) -- positioning it where it could control all my stereo and TV components and keeping it aimed properly. The extender now lives very happily behind the TV. In the future I may want to control another component or two, so I expect to connect another single or triple emitter to the extender using a Y cable. I do not expect any problems with this, since Next Generation also makes a 6-eye emitter that works with the extender.

SIRIUS Stratus 6 Dock-and-Play Radio with Car Kit (Black) Review

SIRIUS Stratus 6 Dock-and-Play Radio with Car Kit (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this to replace an Audiovox PNP2 radio purchased in 2004...after wasting tons of time and effort trying to make it continue to work properly. I had purchased three home docks and one auto dock for the PNP2 so I was not thrilled when it started to fail. I could not get consistient reception with the PNP2 even after placing the antennae in various places outside my home. I even bought an antenna extender so I could place the antenna on the roof, free from obstruction...no dice. I listen to Sirius all day long so reception problems were driving me nuts!
I ordered the Stratus 6 (with car kit) and a home kit from Amazon because they had the lowest pricing and free shipping. I only ordered one home kit to be sure everything worked properly. After spending a short time connecting everything to a receiver on the first floor I was ready to take the antenna outside for a test when, to my surprise, I heard music! The new antenna was pulling a signal from inside the house! I was completely floored and soon realized that the technology has been enhanced quite a bit since the days of the PNP2. I now keep the unit on top of an organ next to the receiver and keep the antenna curled up, pointing at a wall, and I get all three reception bars! Moving to another stereo in another part of the house is so simple that I don't even need to purchase additional docks. I wish I hadn't waited so long.
The car kit is just as great...I plugged the supplied 3.5mm to 3.5mm connector to my AUX IN, ran the antenna through to the trunk, and found a convenient spot on the dash for the dock. WAY better reception than the crappy PNP2 car dock!
I was able ot transfer my lifetime subscription to the new unit in about five minutes ($75 fee for that but worth it to call all the way to India for assistance ;-)
The blue display is so easy to read and the 10 pre-sets are adequate to get me around the dial quickly. Sound is stellar! I highly recommend this unit!

Archos Key 4 GB MP3 Player with Built-In Micro SD Card Reader (Black) Review

Archos Key 4 GB MP3 Player with Built-In Micro SD Card Reader (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have spent a fortune on finding an ideal MP3 Player, while some met my requirements, almost all failed at two basic things...
Have to carry cables for transfer songs or charging : This is a very basic flaw in a lot of MP3 Players, you need to carry a cable for charging / loading songs / podcasts... and that is very inconvenient when you need it because you end up searching, untangling in vain most of the times.
Ability to browse the songs as I loaded them, and not in some preset sorting like by album / by genre etc. I have gone through a pain staking process of organizing my music into different categories (Gym, Podcasts for learning etc) and getting to my choice of song / item becomes too difficult. Archos had this feature all along.
While this player scores big on these two items. it has a lot of features already advertised which are very useful as well.

Micro SDHC Slot With 4GB of internal storage capacity you can easily store up to 2,000 songs directly on the ARCHOS Key. For music lovers who need a little more, a Micro SDHC card slot is included. Set up a few different cards and swap 'em out on the go for serious audio options.
Voice Recorder Need to make a grocery list, daily reminders, or record a class lecture? The ARCHOS Key has a built in microphone that will let you make voice recordings. The voice recorder can also record FM Radio on the device, so you can record that new song on the radio and listen to it over and over again.

The retractable USB connector lets you plug it right in to your PC for easy drag-and-drop file transfers, just like a USB thumb drive. In fact, if you have a couple files you need to take with you, you can throw those on the key as well, since it acts as a USB storage device.

Sony DRBT101/BLK Over-the-Head Style Stereo Bluetooth Headset Review

Sony DRBT101/BLK Over-the-Head Style Stereo Bluetooth Headset
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am by no means an audiophile, but I was very impressed with these headphone from Sony. As others have said the Bass is by no means deep, but it is acceptable for headphones. Music listening was a joy with these as I was able to move around my house and still be connected (Isn't Bluetooth great). My main reason for getting them was to listen to movies and TV on my desktop and laptop, the pairing was a cinch with both of my computers. The sound quality was very good for both movies and TV, there was also no lag that I noticed between the headphone sound and the actors lips (sometimes happens with wireless things). The fit of these headphones was perfect for my head, they fit snugly but not too tight, they stayed put with movement (Standing, walking, head bobbing to music). Overall I am very happy with these Sony Bluetooth Headphones, I would recommend these to anyone looking for a nice low cost wireless alternative for use with a PC.

Apple iPod iPhone Accessories. Black FM Transmitter Car Charger Kit with Holder for Apple Iphone 3G iPhone 3G S iPod Touch 2nd Generation iPod Nano 5th Generation 5G Review

Apple iPod iPhone Accessories. Black FM Transmitter Car Charger Kit with Holder for Apple Iphone 3G iPhone 3G S iPod Touch 2nd Generation iPod Nano 5th Generation 5G
Average Reviews:

An overview of this item is that it works as designed. I have an iPod Touch 3G with a plastic case and this device holds it well. It hasn't slipped or fallen out once. The wide range of channels on the device provides great sound quality with no static or interference at all. This device sits about a foot away from my radio and this distance is no problem at all. Some other iPod FM transmitters require the device to be placed literally next to the radio in order for the music to even come through. This transmitter though provides a great broadcasting signal at any of the channels available. However, there is a faint high pitched whine that accompanies the music through the speakers and increases and decreases with the volume. This whine is negligible though and hardly noticeable.
The car charger portion fits in very well in my car (02 Honda Civic) but the connector is not flexible or bendable as in other models. Also, my cup holder flips open and closed and while this device doesn't keep you from having drinks there, I am unable to open or shut the cup holder once the device is inserted into the car charger. However, the connector allows for the iPod to be rotated 180 degrees up and down and I find the lack of flexibility with the positioning of the device doesn't bother me at all. The iPod charges well through this device and connection is simple.
Overall this product works. For the price, I would definitely recommend it.
UPDATE:
I wanted to update my review of this product after months of use. The original transmitter I purchased ended up breaking. The chord that connects the transmitter to my iPod Touch ended up breaking in half and completely came apart. This happened without any wear at all and seemed to be a natural progression of the chord simply moving around. I purchased another one (how can you beat the

X10 POWERMID Remote Control Extender Kit PM5900 Review

X10 POWERMID Remote Control Extender Kit PM5900
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
MY father recently remodelled his home, and had all the electronics hard wired behind the walls. It's a real clean installaltion, however all the equipment (reciever, cable, DVD, CD etc) are all out of infrared range.
After figuring out he needed a universal remote, as well as needing r/f capability, the search was on for his christmas present. I had a lot of trouble finding a universaal remote that would set up easily for him, has well as have the R/F capability.
In the end, i opted for the infrared remote i really wanted, and the x-10 system. the leapfrog system appeared to have a few bad reviews, and i figured spending the extra money might make the difference (only like $10)
Turned out to be a great decision. I was concerned about the system b/c the front of all the components in the media closet are very close to the door. I purchased 2 extra extender eyes (plug into the back of the R/F recieving unit, and can be stuck right on the I/R eye of your component) but i didn't even need them. One pyramid in the closet ssomehow still controls all the componants w/o even being in direct line of sight of the i/r eye on each piece of equipment.
I would reccomend buying an extra transmitter (the pyramid w/o the antenna) as you might want to be able to control from other places once you see how convenient this is. My dad has 2, one in the living room, and one in the kitchen, if he wants to control music while cooking.he'll probably end up with another for the patio outside during the summer months.
overall, highly reccomended product.
