(More customer reviews)- I bought these to replace a pair of Sennheiser RS 140 Wireless HiFi Headphones, that had snapped in two, and I couldn't get a replacement, even though they had a 2-year Warranty,
thorough Sennheiser. I bought this pair of Acoustic Research AWD205 Wireless Stereo Headphones, in Black, as a "replacement" set, so here is my take on these headphones.
BTW, I have to note that I thoroughly researched the Wireless Headphones for TV use, and I didn't find any really sets that had a Excellent or Superior Rating, although I do wish that some manufacturer would produce a self-reliant BlueTooth Version that could just be Plug-N-Play, for any TV's with a USB connector.
My Pro's on the AWD205 Wireless Stereo Headphones - For TV Use Only.
* Sound - Very Good, when fully charged.
* Smaller in Size & more streamlined than the Sennheiser RS 140's, which were more bulkier. Won't Notice this until you lay down.
* 3-inch, Open-Air type Stereo Ear phones, with Controls on the Right phone. The Left Phone has the Charger connector. Headphones are thus very comfortable to use for extended periods of time.
* Headphones Size: strictly for Small to Medium sized heads, so if you happen to have a huge head like Oliver Platt, you better get something else!
* Workmanship - Appear very durable and is made in Canada, which has a Excellent Reputation for craftsmanship.
* Headband is only 1-inch wide & Thin, with soft foam rubber inside it to cushion your head.My Con's on the AWD205 Wireless Stereo Headphones - For TV Use Only.
* Transmitter Unit - is relatively Small & Clumsy. It looks like a Super-dupper Tiny wireless Router!
* Transmitter Lights - Very Bright and can be annoying at night when you are trying to sleep, this was never a problem with the Sennheiser's. Use Masking Tape to MUTE the lights, otherwise if you block it out entirely, you won't know if the headphones are charging.
* Operates on 2.4ghz technology - do I really need to say more?
* Charger cable is a single-connector type about 12-inches long, that plugs into the back of the Receiver/Charger unit. Again, it's Clumsy and makes it look so "analog-ish".
* I would have rather preferred to have had a mini-USB connector that I could plug into my computer, AC/USB unit, or a USB Recharger, OR, some other Type of Recharger Station.
* I had to buy a Y-Connector to make it work with the TV Analog Inputs, so this was an extra purchase.
I gave it a Solid 4-Stars and will update these headphones later in the year. Thanks for stopping by.
