I started building kits way back when Lafayette Radio Electronics (LRE) and Heathkit offered them. I've built many Ramsey kits and this one was no big deal for me. I was able to completely build this kit in about 40 minutes. The Transmitter does what it's supposed to but it's a little over rated. Using the supplied telescopic antenna you won't get 300 feet but you will get a reliable 3 feet and that's about it. If you use an external gain antenna you may be able to achieve a little more but that's if the feed line doesn't eat it all up. I bought it to transmit my streaming Roku player to all the TV sets in the house, well, forget that idea. The transmitter works with the new digital tuners as long as the tuner is NTSC. I recommend buying this if your looking for a school or scouting project. If your looking to use it around the home, forget it.
