(More customer reviews)I was extremely disappointed to find that the aux cable pictured is in fact required, not just for "hands free" operation, but for any sound to go through the speakers.
Having used other car docks, I knew that phone call audio would not go through the dock connector, so I assumed the additional aux cable was just to facilitate phone calls. Unfortunately, that is not the case, and sending all audio through the aux cable seems like a fairly amateur solution to this problem, making the product only marginally better than buying a cassette adapter and power adapter separately while being significantly more expensive.
