(More customer reviews)I bought this to use with my new Canon FS200 camcorder, for the purpose of making instructional dvd's. It plugs into the external mic jack on the camera. I've just used the laviler mic that comes with it. Sound quality is very good. I am pleased with it. Haven't moved very far from the camera, so I don't know what the actual range is, but I know it works great within 10 feet of the unit.
