Pioneer Premier DEH-P610BT - Radio / CD / MP3 player / digital player - Full-DIN - in-dash - 50 Watts x 4

I installed this unit in a 92 dodge 4X4 deisel pickup. The blue tooth works really well, my truck is fairly loud because of the deisel engine and the tires. While driving the called party can hear some background noise but my voice is loud and clear above it. I have called my own answer machine to check it. The radio and CD player work well, I also bought the HD radio adapter and it all sounds good. Like so many new things these days it has a lot of features, but navigating the menu while driving is nearly impossible. I set everything up in my driveway now I just drive and live with it. I wish they still had old fashion bass and treble nobs because making changes require navigating through the menus. I would say the inability to make simple adjustments easily is the biggest downfall. All in all I like the unit and would definitely recommend it.

Cirago Bluetooth BTA6210 v.2.1 EDR Class 1 Micro Bluetooth Adaper Review

Cirago Bluetooth BTA6210 v.2.1 EDR Class 1 Micro Bluetooth Adaper
Average Reviews:

This product works excellently with my lenovo x60t. I use it to pair with a microsoft mouse, and it works excellently. It has an excellent range, and usually sees many other bluetooth devices in its ample range. I read the other reviews before buying, and they seemed to rate this device down due to their own computer's faults, and not faults of the product. I personally have had no problems with the device, and it has preformed admirably.

KENSINGTON 33348 Bluetooth USB 2.0 Adapter Review

KENSINGTON 33348 Bluetooth USB 2.0 Adapter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I already had a Kensington Bluetooth 1.2 adapter K33085, and I used it on my Windows XP computer to communicate with my Dell Axim X30 PDA, Nokia 6230 phone, and Motorola HS820 phone headset.
I figured I would upgrade to Bluetooth 2.0 to enable future devices with higher speeds and more capabilities (e.g., stereo headset), so I bought this adapter 33348.
It seems to work fine transferring files with the PDA and the phone, but my main thing was really the headset (for Skype), and I couldn't get it to work.
I installed the software as instructed (tried on 3 separate XP computers), and paired with the headset. It said it was paired, and it noticed when I would connect or disconnect the headset, but when they were paired, there was no sound. I tried manually switching the default audio device to Bluetooth Audio (didn't have to do that on the K33085), but it still didn't work.
I also tried my friend's HS820 and H700 headsets, with the same results.
I contacted Tech Support from both Kensington and Motorola. I never got an answer from Motorola (after 5 days), and the answer from Kensington, while prompt, was not terribly helpful. After I described the problem in detail, and asked for detailed advice, the response basically amounted to "Try installing from scratch again, and if it doesn't work, here's where you can apply for a refund."
So I returned the 33348 adapter to Amazon, and I'm back to using the old K33085 adapter. Hope I manage to find a Bluetooth 2.0 adapter compatible with my headset soon.

Average Reviews:

Purchased this for my is250 and the fitment was good. Wired it up to my navi and dvd player and the quality of the screen was very good. The only thing that stopped me from giving this a 5 star review was that the headrest is pretty flat from the front part and does not mold well will the rest of the seat . Solution to this was purchasing headrest pillows to have a comfortable ride.

Kenwood KDC-MP345U In-Dash CD/MP3/WMA/iPod Receiver with USB/Aux Input Review

Kenwood KDC-MP345U In-Dash CD/MP3/WMA/iPod Receiver with USB/Aux Input
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I usually don't do reviews, but I am so happy with this purchase I had to. I searched around for an entire month trying to find the right receiver. I think that for the money this product is hands down a total score! It has an aux and a usb. Now, when I purchased this I was thinking on using the ipod with the aux input originally. While the usb port can be used for direct Ipod connection and memory stick media (memory stick media?!) I figured I'd only use it to charge my ipod once the bat was running low. I have heard such bad things about ipod/usb functionality in radio receivers that I never thought I would actually use it. I love my ipod, and with the 32,000+ songs I have on there, being able to quickly scroll to what I want is essential, and its pretty hard to keep track of the new stuff I put on because I don't have enough time in the day to listen to all the songs, so I do a lot of rating. trying to scroll through quickly using any receiver search button seemed like a joke and you can't rate songs when you can't use the ipods native click wheel. But i digress. The point is I looked in the manual and found "hands-on/hands/off". With the ipod plugged into the usb port on the receiver I can hit 1 and 3 on the radio and switch between the modes. Now I can use the benefits of the usb port (charging, quality sound) AAAAND use my ipods native clickwheel functionality at the same time. I don't even use the aux anymore! and whenever I decide I want to listen to the ipod on random i just push button 1 on the radio and my artist/album scroll across the screen and I am still happy. The only thing so far that is negative are:
1.the screen during the day is almost impossible to see with sunlight on it. it just looks pink.
2.when using the awesome usb mode i quickly mentioned up top.....for the first 30 seconds in either hands-on/hands-off mode you get a little song distortion because it is loading up i guess. Like i said i have over 30,000 songs and if i get 2 noise interruptions for a second a piece for the first 30 seconds of run-time and thats it, i'd say this is an outstanding product for all who love using there ipods in the car! buy it. u will be very happy. also, I have 4 polk audio db and they sound outstanding with all but a tiny fragment of songs in the hip-hop genre.

Kenwood's KDC-MP345U is a great replacement for that factory CD receiver, giving you both a USB port for simple connection of your iPod/iPhone or a thumb drive, an auxiliary input for other audio devices, playback of MP3/WMA files (via burnt CDs or from the USB port), and room to grow your system with dual preamp outputs.

Removable Faceplate The faceplate of this model can be removed and taken with you, to help deter theft. The control panel is equipped with an easy-to-read, one-line, 13-digit flourescent display for easy control and navigation.
CD and WMA/MP3 Playback Enjoy your favorite CDs and CD-Rs, or burn a disc of WMA or MP3 files and enjoy hours of music on a single disc, along with ID-3 tag display for artist and title info.
Front-Panel USB Port Plug in a thumb drive or other USB storage device for playback of your favorite MP3/WMA files, with easy folder navigation. The port will also charge portable devices, and offers control of some music phones via the receiver.
Enjoy Your iPod The USB port also provides simple connection of your iPod/iPhone allowing you to listen to your favorite music with your car stereo. Then you'll get the added benefit of advanced search features designed to let you spend more time listening to your favorite songs instead of hunting for them:Alphabet Search, Reverse Browsing, and more.
FM/AM Tuner When you feel like letting someone else control the programming, switch to the radio. Store your favorite stations as presets for instant access--mixed preset tuning allows both FM and AM stations to be preset on the same preset band.
Front Auxiliary Input Listen to external audio devices like MP3 players using the front auxiliary input.
Room To Grow The KDC-MP345U's 50W x 4 MOSFET amp is plenty powerful, but it also features dual 2V preamp outputs (front and rear/subwoofer) for system expansion. It includes a rear/subwoofer switch with a subwoofer level and adjustable low pass filter, so you can send just what you need for your system.
System Q Sound Control Five factory pre-set equalization curves (Rock, Top40, Pops, Jazz and Easy, plus a flat setting) and three speaker matching curves (OEM, 6x9, 5/4 plus a flat setting) can be combined for extreme sound-shaping flexibility. The preset curves include midrange contouring, giving music more clarity and presence. The preset curves can also be combined with the unit's bass, midrange and treble controls allowing users to personalize the sound to their particular taste.
Bass Boost Handy for listening at lower volume levels (or for those who just like a lot of low-end).

Kenwood Kdc-Bt945U CD/AM/FM/USB Receiver with Bluetooth Review

Kenwood Kdc-Bt945U CD/AM/FM/USB Receiver with Bluetooth
Average Reviews:

Like the previous review (which I didn't read), the bluetooth audio will only play on the front speakers, and the second tech support guy I spoke to gave me the same answer as in the previous review. Oddly enough, at first the unit worked great, with full sound for almost two days, when it switched to front speaker operation only. The first tech support guy I spoke to was unaware of the "front-speaker limit", and provided me with a long list of things to try to correct the issue. After trying them, without success, I called back and I was connected to the second tech guy who told me it shouldn't have worked in the first place. So buyer beware, but I'm hoping to return it.
EDIT: The above is my original review. It DOES work will all speakers, for BT audio and hands-free. It's just that the settings for this are somewhat hidden. After spending some more time with Kenwood tech reps, I was told that there must be a defect, so I was referred to a local repair facility. This was an authorized retailer/repair - Suburban Audio in NJ near Philly - and the repair guy there knew exactly what setting was off and I had it fixed within minutes.
The proper setting can be found only while the radio is in BT hands-free mode (page 48 of the pdf manual). The setting to adjust is "Bluetooth HF/Audio", where you can select "Front" or "All". Even though the manual describes this for voice, is applies to both voice and audio streaming.

I Have been using the 5070-2584 ir receiver (and the blaster cable 5188-6055) with my HP notebook. It's great. Just follow the windows media center setup instructions and you'll have a dvr. It works with any provider's settop box. I have Directv. The photo doesn't show the blaster cable (emitter cable that goes to the settop box infra-red window). And the receiver is pretty generic. It's used on a huge number of products, so ignore the Picasso reference.

The picture quality is one of the best I've seen on a flip down monitor but the base plate to hold up the monitor is weak... Theres no metal behind it to support its weight. Theres only plastic, soo after awhile I'm worried that it'll start to crack and break... Wish they made it more sturdy soo it would last ... But over all happy with the purchase...

Dvi To HDmi Over CAT5E Mini Extender Review

Dvi To HDmi Over CAT5E Mini Extender
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have finished trying out the DVI extender I bought. What I have is Windows 7 running on a Nvidia GeForce 9400 GT video card. The 9400 has a DVI output as well as VGA to my Dell SP2208WFP monitor. The monitor's native res. is 1680 x 1050 which I use. I bought fifty feet of CAT6 wire to use and I already had a DVI to HDMI 25' cable as my standard.
Using the 25' cable, my nvidia control panel see my TV set as a Zoran HDMI TV and set the res. to 1080i or 1920 x 1080 @ 30Hz. Picture is solid with good color. Looks just like my dell monitor. When I switch to the DVI extender using the CAT6 50' wire, the nvidia control panel see the DVI extender as a DVI extender. The control panel shows the max res. at 720i. I can manually load more resolutions along with their frequencies (refresh rates) but they don't work. Nothing shows on the TV with the other rates and resolutions. They range from 29Hz to 60hz at different resolutions. I have tried them all. And really the 720i does not work because there are color sparkles on the screen, so the picture is unusable and unwatchable. To get true solid color I have to switch to 480i.
I do realize that to be real fair to the DVI extender I should have used a 25' cat 6 cable but the box does say it will work at a range to 130' or 80'. I will try to sell it but I can't list it as the company did because as far as I can tell the extender does not work at its printed specifications.

So that is my report. Thanks for asking about my experience with the SIIG DVI to HDMI cat6 extender. I don't recommend it for High Def. pictures.
Aloha.

Griffin Technology RadioShark AM / FM Desktop Radio with Time-Shift Recording Review

Griffin Technology RadioShark AM / FM Desktop Radio with Time-Shift Recording
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I already have a couple software programs that will automatically record and save radio programming but when the Radio Shark was announced, I couldn't resist. Mac elegance, simplicity and functionality. Or so I thought. The product is solid, well made and the software is easy to use. Unfortunately, the reception is unacceptably poor in my suburban, residential area. Every radio I own from clock radios, a couple Tivoli Pal's, a built in-whole house system, mini-systems and so on receive programming easily. The Radio Shark's reception is inferior to even the lowliest of portables. I've tried everything I can think of. Coiling the USB cable, moving it to every place within reach, using a high dollar shielded usb extension cable which also allowed me to move the Shark further from the computer), using the Radio Shark's headphone input with a pair of ear buds and a minijack to rca cable (as Griffin's website suggests). Nothing seems to help. I have two other radios within 18 inches of computers and they were pretty easy to set up and receive clear, static free programming. The Radio Shark has been a huge disappointment. I should have learned my lesson after purchasing the Power Mate from this company. The Power mate (ditto for the Radio Shark) is very high quality piece of hardware from a fit and finish standpoint but the software was glitchy with a pc. Maybe it would have been better with a mac. But I digress. Perhaps if you live far from all urban and suburban interference or live on a hill with better line of site to the towers you want to receive from, the Radio Shark might be fine. For the rest of us, the Radio Shark is likely to disappoint. If you want to time shift radio programming, I can recommend two excellent pieces of software. High Criteria's Total Recorder Pro (for the pc) and Rogue Amoeba's Audio Hijack Pro for the Mac. I don't work for or profit from either comany. I use both on a daily basis. Both are rock solid. All you need to do is connect a radio to your pc or mac and you're set.

Agptek Driverless Sliding Bluetooth USB dongle Support VolP calls Skype MSN USB Music & Voice (30*17.5*8mm) Review

Agptek Driverless Sliding Bluetooth USB dongle Support VolP calls Skype MSN USB Music and Voice (30*17.5*8mm)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I recently purchased a Sony DR-BT50 bluetooth headset and a K-Mate BTT004 bluetooth dongle (oh, by the way, that's what the "Agptek Driverless Sliding Bluetooth USB dongle" really is called). I have a Dell Studio 1536 AMDX2 64bit with Windows Vista Home Premium service pack 2. I specifically bought the headset and dongle because of favorable reviews on Amazon.com.
I knew I might run into problems when I read the packaging. "BTT004 is a USB MV Dongle of automatic driving. Just plug BTT004 into USB port of PC, no need additional softare installed in the PC." Ugh... chinglish!
1) I can pair the headset to my phone. The audio sounds great.
2) I can pair the headset and dongle on my spare windows XP machine. The audio sounds great.
3) I can pair the headset and dongle on my Dell Studio 1536... however the audio sounds horrendous with a constant static crackles and pops, as if someone was crumpling up paper. When there is no sound, the headset is quite. Start playing a song on Itunes and the crackles get louder and quieter with the music.
Does the problem lie with my Dell studio 1536's audio card. Perhaps? But this dongle uses Microsoft's generic usb audio driver (usbaudio.sys). I have a feeling the problem is the audio driver. I found a potential fix online where people replace Vista's usbaudio.sys with window xp's version. This advice was nearly 2 years old and when I tried it, it didn't work for me. I lost audio to the headset. I put everything back to where it was afterwards.
In conclusion: I think I may shop around for a dongle that has it's own driver disk and doesn't rely on microsoft's generic usb audio device drivers.
Agptek and K-Mate have useless Chinese websites with no driver updates or support.
Will this dongle work for you? It worked on 50% of my computers and 100% of my cell phones. So perhaps. I, however, can not recommend this item at this time. Spend the cash for a better dongle by a brand name company.

IOGEAR RS-232 Serial Adapter with Bluetooth Wireless Technology GBS301 (Black) Review

IOGEAR RS-232 Serial Adapter with Bluetooth Wireless Technology GBS301 (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Classic design goof up.
This serial adapter has a DB9 male connector in the DTE pinout.
I purchased this adapter to plug into the console ports of various computers and network switches so it should've been a DB9 female connector in the DCE pinout. Clearly, they realized this so they provide a female to female null modem adapter (most null modem adapters are male to female).
Unfortunately they left pin 9 unconnected as would be the case in most null modem cables and most null modems, although this is normally a reasonable precaution, this device derives it's power from pin 9 which being unconnected, does not work very well. To account for this oversight, they've provided an external power adapter with an european to US plug adapter, not a very portable solution, nor is it very wireless solution.
The product is still usable if you build your own female to female null modem adapter with pin 9 connected through.

RCA Lyra Wireless Transmitter Review

RCA Lyra Wireless Transmitter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Hello All, Probably like some of you, I waffled for quite some time over whether to buy the RCA Lyra Wireless or not. Finally I plopped the dollars down and now I'm here to tell you that RCA Lyra does exactly what they say. And now, the particulars.
The setup was simple and straightforward, most of my time was spent moving my huge entertainment center from the wall so I could get to the back of my Sony receiver. I plugged the receiver into the MD/DAT slot, plugged it to a power source and every light on the signal indicator glowed green with joy. If only 802.?? were this simple. Ran the software to install the remote and musicmatch (not necessary, but I like it), checked all the audio settings per the manual and WIN XP had everything ready to go.

Went to the radio in Musicmatch and wow, the sound is outstanding, no hiss, just pure clean music. The manual stated that the Lyra could receive interference from cordless phones and recommended using position number four on both transmitter and receiver. I tried the others, turned on my cordless phone and no interference.
I subscribe to Rhapsody and Realone also. So naturally I tried each and they worked, matter of fact any and every sound that my computer makes come through the stereo. I do recommend you download the latest RCA Lyra software, it allows you to switch between players, currently Rhapsody and Musicmatch. But, like I said all the other players work as well, Media Player, MSN Radio Plus, Spinner, MoonTaxi, LaunchCast and more.
The remote control is awesome too, it does just as RCA states, I was surprised to learn that it closes whichever player you're listening to and it works through walls with no hesitation. If you're a Rhapsody user, you know that you can skip to the next song, the remote does that and more. It operates all other electronics as well, I haven't set it up for that yet, probably want, I have a nice Sony all you can control remote.
Well, I'm sure I may have missed something, but I've hit what's important to us all and that's the sound and the ease of setting it up.....PERFECTO. I'm very satisfied, actually it has exceeded my expectations. Lastly, it works, now go order yours!

I just received this product 10 minutes ago, and now I am watching TV on my computer!
First of, install is a breeze. This is the content of the package:
- The external tuner
- A digital antenna
- A USB extension cord (It is really nice for them to include this because this would have been the first thing I'd buy if it didn't come with it.)
- Software CD
I run Vista Home Basic. The install was a breeze, the manual was very detailed. Plug the tuner in first, and then follow the prompt.
After installing the software (the installer doesn't look that professional, but does work), I booted it up. It asks whether it should scan for channels. I said yes.
After about 10 minutes, this is what it found: 8 analog channels, and a whopping 9 digital channels. Obviously your results may vary, but I'm impressed with just the included antenna out of the box. It's basically picked up all digital broadcast channels (FOX, 2 PBS, 2 ABC, NBC, 2 CBS, and CW). Once these digital channels are picked up, they look super sharp. I doubt I'd touch those analog channels at all.
Channel switch has a bit of delay, esp between analog channels. But it's tolerable. With 9 channels, channel surfing isn't a big problem.
Now, in terms of computing power, it's taking about 90 MB of RAM right now, and

The Hauppauge 1200 WinTV-HVR-850 Hybrid TV Stick External TV Tuner/Video Recorder will bring high-definition television directly to your PC. This handy device lets you watch your favorite TV shows through your computer and record them digitally for future playback using high quality MPEG-2. More economical and versatile than a DVR, or digital video recorder, this PC Video Recorder, or PVR, gives you virtually unlimited options for saving and playing back your favorite TV broadcasts and clips. Play and Record Television Digitally The WinTV-HVR-850 is a simple-to-use device that brings over-the-air high definition ATSC digital TV as well as analog cable TV directly to your PC desktop or laptop. With the additional included antenna, it can also receive analog TV broadcasts. More versatile than a DVR, the WinTV-HVR-850 is a pocket-sized device that simply plugs into your PC's USB port. It features a built-in digital ATSC over-the-air TV receiver. If you live in one of the more than 200 cities in the United States that receives ATSC digital TV, you'll have immediate access to as many as 1500 digital TV stations. ATSC digital TV is the over-the-air HDTV standard for North America. ATSC broadcasts range in resolution from standard definition up to the high definition 1080i format. (To check the ATSC digital transmissions in your area, input your zip code at titantv.com.) A portable digital TV antenna, which can be used to receive digital TV up to 10 miles from an ATSC transmitter, is included with the PVR . If you live in an area where you can't currently receive ATSC digital TV, the WinTV-HVR-850 can still be used to watch and record analog TV from cable TV or a TV antenna. (The WinTV-HVR-850 cannot receive digital cable TV or digital satellite TV.) Once the WinTV-HVR-850 is connected, you can begin to record your favorite shows in high-quality MPEG-2 directly to your hard disk using the Hauppauge SoftPVR MPEG-2 encoder. Television recordings will typically consume 5 GB of disk space per hour for ATSC high definition, while analog recordings will typically consume 1.5 GB of disk space per hour. You can also use the included WinTV-Scheduler to program your computer to record your favorite analog or digital TV shows for play back at any time. Compatibility with Microsoft's Windows Media Center means that you can watch TV as well as your recordings with Windows Media Center. The included WinTV application also lets you watch your shows in a window or on full screen. More about PVR Technology PVR stands for PC Video Recorder. The WinTV-HVR-850 is a PVR that allows you to play television through your computer and record the broadcasts digitally. PVR doesn't use standard videocassettes; instead, it uses your computer's hard disk to store the broadcasts. Once you record a television show to your PC's hard drive, you can burn a CD or DVD that will allow you to play the show back on another computer or on your television. With video editing software (not included with the WinTV-HVR-850), you can even edit the shows. This is a great feature if you want to save clips from movies or sitcoms, or keep your favorite player's grand slam or TD kick-off return for posterity. Belkin Bluetooth Car Hands-Free Kit for Apple iPhone, iPod, Blackberry and Android Smartphones Review

This is one of the easiest blue-tooth gadgets to use, and one of the handiest. Unlike most other hands-free add-ons, this one does NOT use an FM transmitter to broadcast over your car stereo- it uses a 2.5mm jack (mini-headphone size - same as an iPod.) This of course means that your receiver has to have an available jack to plug into. Assuming your vehicle is so equipped, then this is probably the best hands-free add on you could find. One large button controls it all (It also houses the microphone.) There's a plate that gets stuck to your dash - the dash side is foam adhesive tape, the other grabs the button with a magnet.
At one end of the cable is that button/mic combination - this attaches to the dash. At the other end is a standard cigarette lighter style plug. Stick this in the auto's outlet (I guess they are no longer called lighters.) This end also has the plug that sticks into your sound system's aux jack. That's it. Since it's blue-tooth, your phone can be in your pocket, on the seat, where-ever. You can play music via your phone (I use my Droid X) and answer/make calls.
Since the button attaches via a magnet, you can remove the Aircast and store it in the glove compartment when not in use.
One handy feature is the built-in USB charging port. This is located on the end of the outlet. So while it's plugged in it powers the Aircast, but can also power and charge your USB device (phone, etc.) Also included is an extension cable for the stereo jack.

I purchased this product for my wife's car from an online retailer. The first item that I received stopped working within the third week and they sent me another one. The new one is still working after 3 months, but has lots of problems. If you are getting this for its handsfree phone capability, beware that it is somewhat useless. It is easy to connect to your phone, but making decent phone conversation is difficult because of the inferior speaker and microphone quality. The gps portion is pretty annoying as well. The cold start takes about 2 minutes when not in motion and about 4 minutes when in motion. In other words, when you start your car for the first time during the day, your gps is not available for the 2-4 minutes, which is unacceptable. Thankfully, it is not as bad when you start it again later in the day. The gps is pretty much useless in downtown area because it can not locate your actual position and it keeps trying to direct you to streets you already passed. I never used a portable gps unit before so I do not know if major portable units suffer from the same problems. It definetly does not compare to the harddisk navigation in my car. I would not recommend this product.
