Gyration Air Mouse GO Plus GYM1100NA Review

Gyration Air Mouse GO Plus GYM1100NA

The first thing I noticed about this mouse when I opened the package was that it was smaller and sleeker than I originally anticipated. This was a good thing because I did not want something that would rival the size of my remote control. I spent about 2 weeks deliberating this purchase because I wasn't sure which air-mouse to purchase (this one, Logitech MX Air, Gyration Air Mouse Elite, Gyration 2100, etc.). The characteristic that sold me over was the shape of this mouse.
After doing countless reviews of the other air mouses, I noticed many people complaining about the awkward shape of their air-mouse mouse when using it as an air-mouse. I must say, hands down, I love the shape of this mouse! It's a hybrid between a remote control and a Wii Nunchuck. It perfectly contours in my hand, and the ergonomic shape was my ultimate dealbreaker.
The sensitivity and overall accuracy of the sensors is great. The learning curve took me about one whole day to get accustomed to using. And after about a week, I swear I should be in the next Harry Potter movie because I'm a flatout magician waving this thing like my personal wand. Battery life is great; I've used it for 5-6 hours at a time without charging it and it still doesn't require a charge.
A GREAT feature about this mouse is that the orientation of the mouse doesn't not matter when using it as an air-mouse. I can be pointing the mouse up towards the sky, down in the ground, wrist turned in, wrist turned out, or lying slanted on my chest and the left/right perception of the pointer will not be disoriented. This is absolutely fantastic.
Another two great features that this mouse has to offer are programmable buttons as well as programmable gestures (like "left swipe") that allow the user to open numerous programs or window functions.
The only gripe I have with this mouse is that the double-click locking feature that allows this mouse to remain an air-mouse often unlocks, meaning that I have to double-click the trigger button again to keep it as an air-mouse. However, my friend who also owns this mouse doesn't have this problem. In all, it's not a big deal. I wish I bought this mouse years ago. Hands down, it's the best purchase I've made from a convenience point of view in a long time. And if you spend a lot of time working on the computer like I do, I don't mind spending money if it makes doing my work a little more comfortable.

Cirago Bluetooth BTA6210 v.2.1 EDR Class 1 Micro Bluetooth Adaper Review

Cirago Bluetooth BTA6210 v.2.1 EDR Class 1 Micro Bluetooth Adaper

This product works excellently with my lenovo x60t. I use it to pair with a microsoft mouse, and it works excellently. It has an excellent range, and usually sees many other bluetooth devices in its ample range. I read the other reviews before buying, and they seemed to rate this device down due to their own computer's faults, and not faults of the product. I personally have had no problems with the device, and it has preformed admirably.

Microsoft Comfort Mouse 6000 (S7J-00001) Review

Microsoft Comfort Mouse 6000 (S7J-00001)

Yuck, this mouse is just not good enough.
Pros:
-Five buttons
-Right handed
Cons:
-It's super-light. It must be as light as they could possibly make it. I imagine that it will hold together, but there is a real lack of inertia. It feels like a balloon when you pick it up.
-The click sounds are a little louder than my other mice... but the real problem is that the clicks ring hollow and at a lower pitch. It's a little annoying and seems cheap. My other mice have sounded like tapping on a piece of glass with a fingernail. This is somewhere between that and tapping on wood.
-The back button is nice and long so anyone can reach it... but the forward button is far forwards and I have to reposition my palm to reach it. Note I have big hands so it can only be worse if yours are smaller.
I think this will be an OK mouse when the price comes down to $15-20. Cosmetically it looks like an update of the excellent IntelliMouse Explorer series... but it feels like a basic Wheel Mouse Optical in the hand. Just not good enough.

Microsoft Wireless Mouse 5000 Review

Microsoft Wireless Mouse 5000

I had been searching high and low for an inexpensive, wireless, Mac-compatible, 5 customizable button mouse with 4-way scrolling to replace an older wired Microsoft mouse that fit the bill. I stumbled across this mouse by accident in a big box store, and thought it might be what I needed. But I was immediately bamboozled by the odd packaging that doesn't list any features but the BlueTrack technology. (Gee, that's great that I can use it on carpet or granite, but I think I'll just stick to a mousepad, thanks.)
Not even a mention of it having 5 customizable buttons or 4-way scrolling. I could only assume. Reading the product description here, again, one is left to guess.
Thankfully, a super-helpful clerk in the store allowed me to open the package and test the mouse- and yes, indeed it DOES have 4-way scrolling and 5 customizable buttons. In various programs like Photoshop, and Final Cut Pro it's always been very important to me to have those extra buttons that I can assign oft-used functions to.
Just thought I'd point this out for anyone else who might be wondering about this mouse's full feature set and getting no answers from the oddly lacking product descriptions that abound.
Since buying this, I've found this mouse a joy to use. It feels pretty good in my hand (I have large hands) I've used it now for a few weeks of 8-hour work days (video editing) and found it very comfortable. The accuracy is very good, making it a good fit for everything from standard PC use, to photo and video editing.
And yes, the 5-buttons work great. The two buttons on either side don't get in the way during normal use as generally you'll be grasping the mouse just below them, but either can be clicked with just a gesture, making them good for assigning oft-used functions in your favorite applications. The scroll wheel is a user-programmable button as well. Be sure to install the Microsoft IntelliPoint software for Mac or PC to take advantage of all the features and button customization. It's invaluable to me that IntelliPoint allows you to assign global settings or application-specific settings.
I highly recommend this mouse for people with larger hands, in need of an accurate (yet inexpensive) mouse with a pretty full feature set.

Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 6000 - Black Review

I was skeptic of MS mouse products after using few earlier models. I'm Logitech converted. I use a G9 for my desktop, that's simply an amazing mouse. However, this bluetrack tech has me blown away. It works virtually on any surfaces that you would use for a mouse "pad" the build quality is great, I love the two side buttons and the rubber grips. Its comfortable and stylish (be aware that the stock pix is misleading, the blue light does not show around the mouse)

Logitech M305 Wireless Mouse (Silver) Review

Logitech M305 Wireless Mouse (Silver)

I actually bought this elsewhere, got a nice price on it. I would never consider a long-receiver USB-type wireless mouse for a laptop. I can just see them getting hooked and broken over and over, so it was important to have a tiny receiver like this. I admit I've not tested the range. I have not tested the battery life (only a few days old). However, this thing's receiver is awesome; I know it will not break due to its small stature.
The mouse itself was found fine on Windows Start 7 and also XP Home edition on two computers. It's a bit more sensitive than my older USB plug in mouse so I pulled down the pointer speed in control panel.
I generally dislike mouses/mice (?) of this shape as it is stub-nosed and quite tall. That is my main complaint about it but I knew that going in so I cannot ding it a star and it is otherwise a large enough mouse not to frustrate my hands--it is not a tiny, pitiful "laptop"-sized mouse.
It has a button on the bottom to turn it off. If left on the red tracking light underneath is constantly shining, but I intend never to turn it off as I think that light pulls very little power (I hope) and it ensures quick wake ups. Wakeup time is about a second if the mouse has been left for a while--this won't bother you. Responsively it seems fine. I've not tried it with gaming. I hear that USB-based wireless mouses are a touch faster than bluetooth, for what it's worth.
It takes a single AA battery (comes with a duracell), which means replacements should be most readily available and an AA vs AAA or 2XAAA ensures decent battery life without spending any kind of real money on battery replacements. I imagine it would work with a rechargeable nimh but I have not tried it.
As I will use this mouse every day, if I do not come in to update this review in the future you can rest assured that I either got run over by a truck or the mouse continues to work as stated.
EDIT: Feb 9/10. The battery died on this a couple of days go, so with pretty regular use (3-4 hours/day) and never turning the thing off it got about 6 weeks, which I think is certainly acceptable.
