(More customer reviews)I recently purchased this unit to go with my SC-HT930 surround sound system. It is worth purchasing so you don't have to run speaker wire to the back of the room. I hid the receiver behind my couch and it still gave out a strong enough signal. I'm very glad I purchased it and it works great.

Thanks to the Panasonic SH-FX50 rear wireless receiver and transmitter, you can eliminate wire connections made from the main unit of your home theater system to the back of the room. Simply add this model to a compatible Panasonic home theater system and you'll be able to form a wireless connection between the main unit and the surround speakers; just set up your wireless receiver at the back of the room and connect your rear surround speakers to it.
It provides a stable, reliable wireless connection between the main system and the rear speakers via 2.4 GHz frequency. It delivers plenty of full surround sound with 70 watts per channel from the digital amplifier located in the digital receiver. The SH-FX50 is compatible with Panasonic SC-HT930, SC-HT830V and SC-HT730 home theater systems.

(More customer reviews)After reading everyone's reviews, my wife and I decided to buy this unit -- what a mistake! After less than three months of only occasional use, one unit has stopped working entirely. We used it less than 30 minutes a day 4 or 5 days a week. That's it! And there were no small fingers touching it because our son is only one year old and too small to reach the DVD player. Because one unit broke, we turned on the second one, which had not been used since it was installed, only to find that It didn't work either. And did I mention it's never been used? What an absolute piece of garbage. And although we were aware that there was no warrantee on this product, our previous experience with Amazon sellers have always led to some sort of agreeable settlement with faulty merchandise. Not so with this seller, EliteAutoSoundSales. After informing them that we had obviously received a lemon, we received a curt email back from them saying it's been over 30 days and the return period has expired. Don't buy this product -- especially from this horrible seller. Now that I look back on the other reviews, I see that most of them focus on how easy it is to use and how it looks good -- but very few of them comment on the longterm quality of the player itself. I was fooled -- but please do not make the same mistake I did!

LinXcel HS-41A0 4 Ports HDMI Switch With One 6ft. HDMI Certified Cable Review

(More customer reviews)It does what it is supposed to do, but it takes a good 6-8 seconds to switch between inputs. Also, note that this is HDMI 1.2a, not the latest version.
Update:
I have been using this switch for almost a year now. AT&T U-Verse (Pay TV over IP) DVR box, Philips upconverting DVD player, and Canon HD Video cam. Still takes 6-8 seconds to change between inputs. Occasionally have to power cycle the unit, which isn't a big deal for me, but try to explain it to the wife over the phone. Occasionally I get a HDCP error on my tv, and I have to cycle through all the inputs to clear it. Still better than swapping cables or buying a new tv with more HDMI inputs.
I have just purchased a Samsung Blu-Ray player, and this switch does not work with it. The connection cycles on and off continuously, even on the player's setup menu. I am afraid I need to find a new solution now.

(More customer reviews)I just purchased this for 39.99 at Fry's after the salesperson recommended it. I did not want to spend too much. It works okay for someone who doesn't know that much. The battery life is a little short for me but I am getting the hang of it. I found a better manual online and that helped out a lot. THe one that came with was pathetic. It syncs with my Windows media player well. I think for the money, it is great.

Not even a LED to let you know if they are getting power or not. No on/off switch. Seems this type of product should be a lot easier to use.

(More customer reviews)Bought this to act as a second monitor between my Mac and my TV in another room.
Firstly, I had to download the Mac drivers online as they were not available on the CD that came with. However, after finding the drivers on the support page, everything installed easily.
Secondly, it seemed to work fine through exactly 1 wall; the manual says it needs line-of-sight, but if it's just one wall you might be fine. The transmitters heat up quite a bit, probably due to the frequency they run on, but other than that the transmitters were easy to hide and did not create eyesores.
Finally, it worked well with general tasks and browsing the internet, including playing videos through vlc. However, it would not play videos in full-screen at all and what's worse, the drivers made it impossible to play flash video/animations online at all, regardless if I was even using the second display. This led me to attempt to uninstall the software and drivers, however there is no uninstall process for the drivers, just the software and thus you will be stuck with a 'Wireless Dongle' icon in your task-bar for the rest of eternity.
I'm sure this works fine with a Windows machine, but it only succeeded in under-performing and breaking my Mac's ability to play flash. I'll wait until a software-agnostic media transmitter comes along.

(More customer reviews)This product is the best consumer product available for this type of A/V transmission. Using the 5.8MHz band keeps it free of the dreaded microwave oven interference, as well as interference from most cordless telephones. The picture is good, though not perfect. But it's more than adequate for all but the largest TVs (great for a kitchen-sized screen). Be sure to experiment with all four channels to find the one that works best.
The only glitch I have found is with the power. Occasionally the A/V link would fail and I would have to restart either the sender or the receiver, depending on which one failed. Also, occasionally the channel selection would change spontaneously on one unit or the other, thus breaking the link. I solved both of these problems by installing small APC battery backups on both sender and receiver unit. I think electrical storms were at the root of both problems. Since then, I haven't had a single recurrence. I've used these units now for over two years.
We don't use the IR link because we have a different one (made by RCA) that works well and serves other devices not connected by the AVS-5811/5813.
