Acoustic Research AWD210 Wireless Digital Stereo Headphones Review

Acoustic Research AWD210 Wireless Digital Stereo Headphones
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have now purchases 3 sets of the AWD210 headphones and 2 out of 3 have eventually broken at the left ear piece swivel joint (where the wires go through) under normal usage! I read another review from a guy who said that his headphones broke at the same location. Also, 1 of the 3 sets did not always go into charge mode and completely charge the batteries reliably every time and I only get an hour or so before they'd shut off. I tried to communicate with Acoustic Research Customer Service about the weak swivel joint plastic problem but I got only rudeness and denial out of the jerk I talked to about it. I sincerely hope they fix these problems for the next model as I will NOT buy another pair of the 210's, which is too bad, because the headphones sound GREAT in spite of the technical and quality issues. Hope my final set lasts longer than the other two did...

Sony SRS RF930RK - Wireless speaker system Review

Sony SRS RF930RK - Wireless speaker system
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I did read other reviews before I purchased. Like other mentioned, it will turn itself off after about 3-4 minutes after a popping noise, if there is no audio source input. You can plug your MP3 player directly to speaker as well. I don't have any problem to hook it up with 3 audio sources: one from my PC, one from my MP3 palyer, and one from my cellphone. I listen my music any where within my house (about 150 feets) without any problem. If I take it over 150 feets, there is a hissing sound. I give it 4 stars for this reason. Buy it if you love to listsen your music in bathroom, backyard, and basement... as I do.
Sound is good quality. Can't beat the price, either... Since my music library is on my pc, it just made sense to use the pc as the source.

Acoustic Research AW822 900 Mhz Outdoor Wireless Speaker (Single, Brown) Review

Acoustic Research AW822 900 Mhz Outdoor Wireless Speaker (Single, Brown)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The speaker sounds nice when it works, but just some scattered thoughts:
I ordered this speaker to have music on my deck. The original plan was to run music (ipod) from my living room receiver to the deck - which is 50 feet and one wall away. I wanted the same music in the living room as on the deck. The signal wasn't near powerful enough, even trying several different outputs - (and even after adjusting the ipod volume, etc, no luck) - to the point where music just wouldn't play. I do have an older home with plaster walls, so perhaps this was the problem. I wasn't expecting the advertised 250 feet, I understand that it would take a perfect scenario, but realistacally, if walls are involved, expect 20-30 feet. In order to use the speaker, I have to place the transmitter and ipod in my kitchen, which is just inside from the deck. The speaker does sound good, and the outdoor volume is adaquate. I wasn't expecting the wireless sound to be so good. There is ocasional static when someone crosses the line of the signal, or when the sliding door opens/closes. More gripes - once an album is done on the ipod, or any other source, the speaker goes to loud static - and scares everyone. It would be nice if there was an auto mute - the cure of course is to just use a very long play list. Also, there is no sound leveling. Many song files are different, so volumes can change per song. I know this is more of my problem (poor source) and it's not fair to complain of these things since they aren't advertised features, but just be aware of them. The best use for this would be if you had a huge deck, and you actually had the transmitter outside, and two of these speakers on the back corners or spread out on the deck. For $70 it's not bad. I wanted a stationary solution, but now I have to grab my ipod+ charger and move it to the kitchen to have sound outside. Just keep in mind the issues above and that the transmitter needs to be close for clear, static free sound.

Soundcast SOU-OCJ410 OutCast JR Wireless Speaker Review

This speaker kicks ass, I own two of them. The only thing is I wish it had a soft case you could put it in because the outside gets scuffed and smudged extremely easily and you can't get the marks off. These things can take a pretty good beating. Battery life is great to and the options for wireless/wired ipod and battery/acdc adapter use is just awesome. Totally loud and great bass and knocks the socks off of any competitive product. Actually, I take that back, this product doesn't HAVE a competitive product because nothing comes close to being as versatile and great-sounding.

Oregon Scientific IB368 iBall Wireless iPod Speaker with Transmitter Dock Review

Oregon Scientific IB368 iBall Wireless iPod Speaker with Transmitter Dock
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I would like to give this item 5 stars because the packaging was exquisite and carefully thought out, the item is well designed and very nice to look at, BUT, nowhere in the description that I can find does it say if you want to use this with an iPod Nano that you have to contact the manufacturer for the proper docking adaptor. And that it takes two to three weeks to receive it! This is a fifty cent piece of plastic folks. Oregon Scientific should supply their distributors with the piece and let them add it to the order instead of suprising the consumer like this. Come on! This was a gift and the excitement my daughter felt at receiving it was dampened considerably by her inability to use the thing.I give it four stars because the speaker seems to be well made and the instructions are thorough even though there is only a small tag discretely placed on the outside of the box that says you have to ask for the adaptor to make it work with the Nano. If that had been in the item description I could have requested it when I bought it and saved a week or so of waiting. As it is we have a rather expensive clock that we can't use as a speaker until Oregon Scientific fufills the adaptor request.
1/12/06. I would like to report that Oregon Scientific contacted me and we resolved all issues with this order. They were extremely helpful , gave a clear and concise explanation of the issue with the Nano adaptor and satisfied me completely. It is a pleasure to deal with a company that is so concerned with their customers. My complements to them and their customer service crew.
Now to the product. The system works flawlessly, there were no glitches or difficulty in setting it up and the sound is fabulous. It is the equal of my Bose Wave radio in my opinion. The smile on my daughter's face as she carried the ball around listening to her stored music was worth the wait. I can recommend this product with no reservations. I am upgrading my rating to 5 stars and ordering a catalog from Oregon Scientific today.

Unleash the full potential of your iPod with the iBall wireless speaker system. Consisting of a portable wireless speaker and transmitter dock combo, the iBall plays your favorite iPod tracks from a distance of up to 100 feet without losing a hint of fidelity. Simply plug the iPod into the transmitter dock, which employs advanced 2.4 GHz frequency-hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) technology to wirelessly send crystal-clear digital audio to the speaker. The audio is smooth and powerful thanks to the high-quality electronics and the system's three-speaker array and ported bass cavity. Plus, the iBall's built-in remote control lets you control the iPod's basic playback functions directly from the speaker, so you don't need to trudge across the house to increase the volume or skip tracks.
The multifunctional transmitter dock also acts as a docking, charging, and synchronization station. In other words, you don't need to disconnect the iPod from the iBall transmitter to recharge the batteries or transfer music from your iTunes-equipped Mac or PC, as the dock takes care of both functions. Just connect the dock to your computer's USB or FireWire ports and you're set. On the other end, the iBall speaker is completely cable-free, so you can locate it almost anywhere in the home--even on the back patio or in the garage--without worrying about a messy, cumbersome setup.
Listeners will also appreciate the iBall's adjustable bass and treble controls, along with the easy-to-read LCD display that illuminates the time, volume, bass and treble levels, wireless signal strength, input selection, battery power, and play/pause status. Finally, the iBall includes both an auxiliary line-in mini-plug for connecting an additional audio source, such as a portable CD or MP3 player, and S-video and A/V stereo line-out mini-plugs. The latter jacks let you listen to or view iPod files through other A/V components, such as a home stereo system or TV, without buying an adapter. Additional features include a real-time clock and a wall bracket for the speaker.
The iBall speaker, which measures 8 by 7.4 by 7.7 inches (W x H x D), runs for six to eight hours on the included rechargeable batteries, which can be recharged while still in the speaker. The transmitter dock, meanwhile, checks in at 4.3 by 4.2 by 2.3 inches. The iBall's seven docking tray adapters are compatible with the iPod shuffle (512 MB and 1 GB models), iPod mini (4 GB and 6 GB models), iPod with click wheel (20 GB and 40 GB models), iPod with dock connector (10 GB, 15 GB, 20 GB, 30 GB, and 40 GB models), iPod with color display (20 GB, 30 GB, 40 GB, and 60 GB models), and iPod nano. The entire system is also backed by a one-year warranty.
What's in the Box Wireless speaker, transmitter dock, seven docking tray adapters, two AC adapters (one for speaker, one for dock), six rechargeable batteries, battery cap, wall-mount bracket, four screws, allen key, lint-free cloth, quick-start guide, user's manual.

Rocketfish Digital Wireless Speakers RF-WS01 - Wireless speaker system - 8 Watt (total) - 2-way Review

Rocketfish Digital Wireless Speakers RF-WS01 - Wireless speaker system - 8 Watt (total) - 2-way
Average Reviews:

I've seen a number of negative reviews regarding volume on the RF-WS01. Mine arrived two days ago and I was very disappointed at first. So much so that I decided to sell them on eBay, with a notation about the lack of volume. To create a nice photo I hooked up the wireless sender to an MP3 player, and practically damaged my ear-drums. Here's what I learned: The Volume On The Music Source MUST Be Turned Up To Maximum, and then adjust the volume on the speakers.
I plan on keeping the speakers. They're very nice.

Mint 130 Wireless Speaker for iPod, MP3 Players, PCs, and Mac (Black) Review

Mint 130 Wireless Speaker for iPod, MP3 Players, PCs, and Mac (Black)

The person who wrote about having to sync the speaker to the USB wasn't reading the instructions. You totally don't even have to do that. I just plugged it all in, changed the setting on my computer and voila - wireless sound. I would recommend this to anyone looking to rid themselves of wires attached to their computer. The only bad thing that I can come up with was that the instructions were a little confusing which may be why that one guy kept trying to sync his up by pressing the buttons on each device. I never did that; it was plug and play almost instantly. Works great! Great price.

Good sound, when it works. If you have any other 2.4Ghz devices in your home, telephones, WiFi, Keyboards, etc. buy something else or live in 2.4Ghz hell. Range is limited to about 50 feet in open air, 20 feet through walls. There is no way to know what channel the device in operating on and power loss results in channel setting loss.
Look for 5.8Ghz devices or save a lot of time and run the wires.

Audio Unlimited Premium 900MHz Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Speakers withRemote and Dual Power Transmitter (Pink) Review

Audio Unlimited Premium 900MHz Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Speakers withRemote and Dual Power Transmitter (Pink)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased these speakers two years ago refurbished for $89. I placed one speaker in a room that is 30 x 42 and connected it to a laptop and LCD projector and had an instant home theater. The remote can not turn on the speakers which doesn't make sense, but the sound is just fine. In my house I have a 5.8 ghz Uniden 4 phones system and G wireless router which does not interfere with the signal. If you have a 900 mhz phone or baby monitor nearby it might mess up as with any wireless device operating in the 900 spectrum. You can power the speakers with D size batteries or plug the speakers into an outlet which is the way I used it and have no problems. I saw a teacher in my building use the same speakers which made me decided to by a pair for myself. The speakers are close to the size of a 2 liter bottle and sound like computer speakers. You are not getting Bose quality speakers, so don't expect perfection. They are good computer quality speakers that give you wireless capabilities.

Audiovox Acoustic Research AW825 Mission Style Wireless Speaker (Bronze)

I was searching for wireless speakers for an outdoor event, and I'm certain these will do nicely. While it's true that the transmitter needs to be plugged into the music source (via a standard headphone jack that will fit all devices I would need it to) and into a wall outlet, I expected that. For a test run I plugged into my laptop sitting in the middle of the first floor then slotted 6 AA batteries into the speaker and turned it on. It automatically picked up the signal. I took a walk around the house and got about 100' away and still got good signal. I also like the feature to select L,R,or Mono on the speaker itself. Bass boost helps the sound a lot. Also, I was able to run 4 speakers from 1 transmitter. Don't know yet about interference or battery life for the speaker. I love the aesthetics of it.

Audio Unlimited SPK-VELO-4KIT2W Premium 900MHz Wireless Indoor/Outdoor 4-Speaker System with Remote and Dual Power Transmitter (White)

We purchased these speakers to use indoors in a retail setting. The base unit is in an office and the speakers fan out from there. So far we have 4 speakers connected, although we will be adding an additional 4 speakers (Audio Unlimited tech support said we could connect up to 20 speakers). The range states 150' but I found that by the time we placed a speaker on our farthest outside wall, the sound was static (at less than 100'), but not putting a speaker on the farthest wall has not been a deal breaker for me. I have been quite happy with these, and these are significantly easier to use than regular speakers with speaker wire. I should also note that we use the AC adapter on all speakers, no batteries; I don't know how that might influence strength of signal. The only other thing that I have not tested that could make a difference is turning the speakers on/off with the remote. The remote has an auto-tune button, so it might work great, but I just haven't used it yet.

Audio Unlimited 900MHz Wireless Add-on Speaker (Black) (SPK-VELO2)
Average Reviews:

I bought this product as a complement to my Logitech Squeezebox, which utilizes my powerful stereo and is excellent for listening to music. It's a hassle to use it to listen to NPR and I never figured out how to use it with Windows Media Player, so thus the purchase. I bought 2 for my living room and one for my bathroom. The Audio Unlimited speakers were a snap to set up and the single speaker I mounted in my bathroom uses the batteries and I get very long life out of the NiMH C cells I loaded into it. Where the speakers fall short is in listening to music - they lack depth, bass, and volume. So I use them exclusively for listening to voice broadcasts, which they perform well.

Audio Unlimited SPK-24GX-DUO 2.4 GHz Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Stereo Speaker System with Remote and Dual Power Transmitter (2 Pack, Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Overall, I'm very happy with this speaker system...I ordered 3 pairs of them, in fact, so I could have sound on all three levels of my townhome, and the system seems to work very well through the floors...no drop of signal or distortion noticed. They are attractively styled, they offer a lot of versatility for indoor or outdoor use, and the sound quality is quite good, even the bass. The remote magnetically sticks into the front recess of either unit, the handle makes them extremely portable, and the mood lighting is a nice touch. Very nice. Audio Unlimited really does a lot of wireless speakers, so no doubt they will add more products to their 2.4GHz range of speakers, all of which will work together seamlessly. (Personally, I'm waiting for a 2.4 GHz shower radio, since they already have one in the 900MHz range.)
The transmitter has two inputs: an RCA connection (to headphone jacks and the like) and paired red/white RCA phono jacks (to/from most stereo sources). Right now I'm using a wireless Logitech Squeezebox Touch as the music input, so I've got wireless connetivity to the source of music (my computer and/or internet radio), as well as wireless connectivity to the speakers...AWESOME combo.
It does have a few idiosyncracies which you should DEFINITELY know ahead of time:
1) The units shut themselves off after a few minutes of inactivity. At the loss of a signal, the units immediately go to sleep (signified by a green power LED), and then they shut down completely. This is very desireable power saver in a battery operated device, of course...but not needed so much when you use the wall adapters. Think about it: you want to wake up to a music alarm or you want to press one power button and hear music music booming from all over your house, and you can't, because you have to go over and PHYSICALLY turn on each individual unit everytime you want to listen to them. To me, this is a step BACKWARD and a major design flaw; do you have to go and turn on each and every individual one of your wired speakers everytime you want to listen to music? NO. Anyway, unless you keep providing some kind of signal input, the units will auto shut off. Exacerbating the situation is that the power buttons require a three second press before they turn on, so you can't just quickly tap them all on; NOOoo, you have to wait at each one.
2) So, you ask, "What about the power button on the remote?" Well, the remote will not turn the unit on.(!) What the "power" button does is wake the unit up from sleep, or puts it to sleep...but it cannot turn on the unit after it has auto shut-off. So, like I said...get used to holding down power buttons with these units...
3) The speaker units operate individually. That is to say, the remote does not interface with the transmitter unit, it interfaces with the speaker units, and only the closest one. If you have them close together, you might be able to catch them both, otherwise you have to point the remote at one, and then the other. This is actualy a benefit if you use them individually in mono mode (say, one in the kitchen and the other in a downstairs living room), but if you have them paired into left and right channels, it can be a little difficult to tell if you really have them at the same volume level.
I would recommend these speakers to those who really want wireless, multiple room sound AND who like to move their speakers around more than most people (say, outside for a BBQ, or to a party, or to supplement your home stereo speakers for an awesome movie experience, etc). I'd also recommend them to someone who will only use them as supplemental speakers for a traditional audio source. If you just want multiple room sound and don't imagine moving your speakers ever, I'd probably recommend something wired, or that only has wireless satellite speakers. Or just something ELSE wireless that doesn't require as much hands-on time. My point here is you probably want to turn on your source and hear something immediately rather than running laps around your house tagging speakers.
Overall, it's a great product with an 'Achilles heel'...you probably won't find a better combo of sound, portability, and value in a wireless speaker system anywhere else. I'd say its worth the bux, but just go into the purchase knowing that to Audio Unlimited, "wireless" means more work, not less.

My friend was having a wedding and wanted to play some back round music while everyone was socializing. These speakers were the perfect thing we were looking for. During the time these were on sale at Costco for about $120 so we got them. We had already had 2 of the speakers that we got from Kohls which were a different brand but still worked, 900Mhz. When the speakers are plugged into a outlet, the quality is great and so is the range. What is good is that you can toss some batteries into them(we had six speakers and they take 6 batteries each, do the math haha) and they will work wirelessly. The dock also takes 4 AA batteries. The quality is not the best with batteries in them, limited to about 50-75 feet, but still worked for what we needed. Now we have them in our living room and the main dock is connected to the tv and the speakers are all around the room and they work really great. They are the easiest thing to set up. All you do is plug the speaker into the wall or toss in some batteries and then connect the transmitter to the tv and it all works. So if you are looking for some good speakers but dont want the Bose price, then i would recommend you getting these and you will love them.
***PROS***
-They have good sound quality for the price
-You get 4 speakers
-Ipod dock which can be connected to the tv or other device
-Remote which powers the speakers and controls the volume
-Can be battery operated
-Wireless. Just plug into an ipod and your ready to go
-Wall mount ready. Just put 2 screws into the wall and hook the speaker up
-Can be placed in different rooms of the house
***CONS***
-Annoying blue light(can be covered up with black tape)
-Lots of "C" batteries needed so you don't have to have it plugged into the wall
-Signal strength is lowed with using batteries
-Sometimes they turn off when not in us. Pain to turn them all back on and then have to turn up the volume
-One of the speakers likes to make a static noise some times. I can be sitting on the couch and if I move my head a little forward then it makes the noise, I move it back, the noise stops. And about 10 min after I turn the tv off, that speaker likes to make one final good bye static noise.
Design- 5 stars
They are all black, but they do come in different color(black, pink, and white). It almost has a 360 speaker, but the mounting space in the back takes up some room. Then the bass is on the top. The remote is nice to have too, but you have to point it at each speaker to change the volume or turn it on or off. They have a blue LED light, which can be bright and annoying sometimes but you get use to it or you can put a piece of black tape over it too.
Quality- 4 stars
The sound works for what is needed of them. They have good sound when connected to a outlet, but when the batteries are in the quality goes down. They can get very loud if you have a lot of them together. Or you can place them around the house to listen to music in different room. Some times we have one in our kitchen to listen to the tv while we cook and eat (comes in handy).
Overall- 4 stars
They work for what you need and are great to have when ever you are having a party or just want to crank up the music. They are weather proof too.
If this review was helpful to you, plase like it. Thanks!
