(More customer reviews)I purchased this model based on the features and price. The picture quality is very good. FM transmission to the stereo works well, but interference can be bothersome. The IR transmission to the headphones works well. Installation is fairly straight-forward.
The problem came about 1 week after installation. The dvd player began skipping. When I opened the lid and removed the disk, there was a 2 mm groove circumferentially around the outer margin of the disk about 1 cm from the edge. I didn't see anything in the player, so I put another movie in and the same scratch pattern appeared. Looking more closely at the optics, there is no cover over the laser reader unlike other models that show the "sony" cover. This may just be a defective item, but I'm not taking the chance. Fortunately amazon customer service allowed for return of the item. It's disappointing that what would otherwise be a good product has a major flaw.

(More customer reviews)This monitor is probably the best I've had yet. It is extremely self explanatory to hook up if you anything about electronics. The picture is flawless but that may all depend on what kind of DVD unit you have it hooked to. Keep in mind this is only a monitor not an actual DVD player. Has rear A/V input as well as front AUX input that you can use to play games on etc. You can basically hook anything up to it with an adapter of some sort if needed.
Overally I would 100% buy these but I have 4 already =)

(More customer reviews)Our dealership had this installed in our 2009 Kia Sedona as our entertainment package. They work great and look pretty good. They are a little darker, but not really noticable. They work well and make long travel much more pleasant. The kids can watch their movies and I can listen to music. We had 2 installed so each child can watch their own movies, but their wireless headphones work on each dvd player so if they want to watch the same movie they can both hear. The build in cover looks great when it is zipped up hiding and protecting the dvd player. This is a great product!

The book does explain that the dvd is easy to hook up, but I had to take it to a professional technician and he had to wire it from my car audio, if you have a nav system in your car, it involves taking out the the dash to install it. Overall, love the product.

(More customer reviews)I bought these to go in my 03 Nissan Altima. The black leather matches well as far as color, but the "texture or grain" is a little heavy in comparison. They where easy to install, about 1 hour with some know how. The picture is good but not as deep colors or as crisp as the 7" double din pioneer I have up front. All in all for $100 a peice pre mounted I would say the are a great buy so far! P.S. I was going to order the 9" version and I must warn these are pleanty big for a car if not almost overkill.

(More customer reviews)This was an addon for a 1995 Toyota Camry. We wanted something to occupy the 4 yr old. It was extremely easy to install and works great. I had to drill the headrest holes a little bigger but only by a mm or so. It fit without drilling but was VERY snug. All is all this ia a great deal. We are planning on buying another one in the future. Great Product. Easy Installation. The width of the rails is adjustable. Very bright.

(More customer reviews)Highs: 1yr warranty. Better quality than non-branded units on ebay. Ability to connect 2 headrests together to play and watch from either or both headrests. Infra-Red headphone capable but not included.
Lows: Games/game controller are low quality. No headphones.
I purchased this Pyle DVD headrest to replace a similar looking non-branded DVD headrest that I purchased on ebay that only lasted 30days before the display went out. I will never get burned by ebay and questionable sellers with no warrany and a 7-day return policy again. Note: I wasn't able to leave feedback to warn others on ebay because it was past 30days. Ebay simply said Oh-well, that's our policy.
This Pyle DVD headrest has a 1 year warranty and it has the video/audio in/out cables to connect 2 of these DVD headrest in the car. The kids love the option of watching their own movie or watching the same movie. Our kids are 6 and 8, so my wife or I usually have to get the movies going because the remote might be confusing, at least until they get used to it.
The Pyle DVD headrest is better quality than the ebay unit I replaced. For example, the hinge is more robust and the flat, flexible ribbon cables have a strain relief and guide to prevent damage. All around it seems that Pyle's engineering specified a higher end product. The instruction manual is also better than the off-brand unit that I have.
The IR headphones that we had from the previous headrest work perfect with the Pyle DVD headrest and have both A and B channels. I wish Pyle included a set.
Don't buy it for the games.

(More customer reviews)We were so disappointed to receive these and find that they did not have speakers. The picture looks as though there are speakers around the sides and bottom, but they were in fact air vents.
If you do not need speakers, this is an amazing product. Very well designed, sharp looking, easy installation!

(More customer reviews)First off, the user manual for this monitor had no instructions on it's use, only a list of "don't" stuff. Trying to open the drop down monitor, after pressing the release button, getting the monitor itself to move from the framework was so hard, that it felt like it was going to break as if jammed. It did indeed make a crackling sound as if something in the plastic swivel was already stressing. The mount that has to be screwed to the ceiling of the vehicle was so narrow, that the tightness of pulling it down time and time again, would have too much leverage against it and would either crack it's own framework, or tear it out of the ceiling it was mounted to. Since most vehicles' overhead panel is made of plastic or a type of fiberboard, I had no faith in using it and never tried to mount it which would have permanently damaged the interior of the vehicle. I gave it 2 stars to cut the monitor function some slack because I never hooked it up to see how well or if it would even work. If a steel panel behind the overhead material were available to screw it to, then maybe it would be okay to mount. So I returned the item and went with the in-mirror monitor type to use with the back up camera I originally bought it to use with.
