(More customer reviews)I purchased this model based on the features and price. The picture quality is very good. FM transmission to the stereo works well, but interference can be bothersome. The IR transmission to the headphones works well. Installation is fairly straight-forward.
The problem came about 1 week after installation. The dvd player began skipping. When I opened the lid and removed the disk, there was a 2 mm groove circumferentially around the outer margin of the disk about 1 cm from the edge. I didn't see anything in the player, so I put another movie in and the same scratch pattern appeared. Looking more closely at the optics, there is no cover over the laser reader unlike other models that show the "sony" cover. This may just be a defective item, but I'm not taking the chance. Fortunately amazon customer service allowed for return of the item. It's disappointing that what would otherwise be a good product has a major flaw.
