Only needed a short transmit distance and the ability to transmit through the wall. No signal distortian was encountered at 107.7 and the sound broadcast to the bedroom stereo is awesome. I rebroadcast the sattelite music channel on line service and it ends up sounding great. Now I have to figure out what the current drain on the batteries will end up being but all in all considered , The whole purchase was a pleasure. Would definetly buy from Taw again

Ramsey FM25B Synthesized FM Stereo Transmitter Kit Review

(More customer reviews)This great hobbyist kit transmits a clear signal over 1200ft or 1/4 mile.
There are about 100 components to solder. You can also buy it pre-assembled for an extra $75USD.
It takes about an hour or so to build. But beginners can take up to six hours.
Checking, adjusting, testing and making an antenna can take all day.
The sound quality is great. By that I mean it's comparable to a tape player or a record player.
The stereo separation is also great. I checked left, I checked right.
I didn't install the built-in telescoping antenna.
I connected an external antenna.
You can also just plug in a five foot 22-gauge sold copper wire.
I also noticed that the manual fails to tell you to install the built-in antenna.
With a dipole antenna or better and placing it outside a window, the transmitted signal can go about a mile if unobstructed.
But now I'll have to lower that signal strength before the FCC comes and yanks out my antenna.-----------------------
1/20/2010 unit still alive. Its on all the time. 24/7/365.

(More customer reviews)Excellent sound quality: no whistling, no microphonics, no noise, frequencies are dead-on and do not drift, good enough to listen to over a serious hi-fi system. Not only will it fill your house with its signal, it will fill half the neighborhood unless you turn the power down. It seems the market for the transmitter includes drive-in movies who use it to broadcast the sound track to a few acres of cars. The circuitry has obviously been designed by someone who knows their way around radio transmitters, this is very solid gear, you won't find better.
Now the downside:
-- You better like putting together Heatkits and can tell a 22K resistor from a 22uH choke. A temperature controlled soldering iron, micro-cutters, fine needle-nose pliers and desoldering braid (for correcting the inevitable mistake) would be good things to have.
-- Even with the best soldering equipment, expect soldering to be a bit of a trial: the multi-layer circuit board does not have thermal reliefs on the pads connecting to the ground plane; lots of luck desoldering same...
