All we needed was clear transmission for spoken voice and this does the job admirably.
No static and more than adequate range for us (only needs 35 ft with one wall in between).

Unit works very well. Inexpensive dual micrphone unit. Handheld mic is a little on the heavy side. Clarity and Range are there. Dual XLR outputs & 1 1/4" combined output.

I am not totally impress with the performance of this microphone. Even when I adjust the gain to the lower dB, it still have some distortion at high frequency input (like the singer with high pitch voice). Other than that, it's good to have wireless and no antena to worry about. It's a compact unit. It would be nice to have an on/off switch rather have to unhook the power cable every time to turn it off.

Disappointed with the sound quality of this item. Cheap construction and it cuts out even at close range. If you touch the receiver, it screws up the signal for a while. Spend a few more bucks and get a better one. I rarely use this one now....

Great range. Light weight. Headset and bodypack transmitter are very comfortable. The bodypack clips to your clothing, therefore I did not need a neoprene belt. The wind sock tends to slip off the mic, but that is not a big deal.

Samson Stage 5H VHF Handheld Wireless System, Channel 11 Review

Samson Stage 5H VHF Handheld Wireless System, Channel 11
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This Samson Stage 5H Wireless System, was a big disappoint for us!
We are knowledgeable on how to set the squelch and various input settings for maximum efficiency, but we could not get a dependable connection when standing just a few feet away from the receiver.
We tried relocating the receiver, but still had numerous "drop outs" when standing just a few feet away from the receiver.
We didn't expect much for the price of this item, but at least it should have worked when standing very close to the receiver. We even tried relocating the receiver to different parts of the stage; but to no avail. We still received numerous signal "drop-outs."
This Samson Model Stage 5H was a huge disappointment; and a waste of money $$$.

This is one of the worst mics I have ever purchased. While holding the mic you can hear your hand rubbing against the mic very loud through the sound system. The sound quality is ok but the noise you hear while holding the mic is unbearable.

We got this to replace our old unit in our church which became obsolete when the FCC changed their regs. The old unit was a Shure, but this is really an upgrade in quality. With the rebate it was worthwhile to get the better unit. It has better range and better sound quality than the old unit.

Shure PGX14/93 Lavalier Wireless System, L5 Review

Shure PGX14/93 Lavalier Wireless System, L5
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I got this at a local Guitar Center in Pasadena, CA. the label sign said $648 and they realized it was mispriced. In stores it's actually $399.99 and he gave me 10% off because I really wanted the lower model PG14 which they don't carry in stores.
At our church, we rent out a school auditorium where there's no sound padding. We currently have a Shure wireless handheld (looks like a Pg14 + handheld but I think it's some older model) and a Sennheiser wireless lapel system that's been giving us a lot of interference/feedback.
First I tried the new AKG wireless presenter set and it had a lot of pops and feedback even though we adjusted the squelch and other areas.
So we tried this PGX14/WL93 system and this past Sunday there was no feedback, pops, in interference. We only experienced the clean and clear interference-free sound that comes from Shure.
On the base unit, I mounted it on top of our other Shure (which was set to channel) 1 and pressed channel and it seems like channel 9 was the only available option (7, 8, 9 at first, but now just 9). I think this is fine as we won't be adding more wireless systems, as of yet.
Once we popped in the 2 AA batteries into the transmitter unit I brought the unit over to the wireless base and hit "auto-sync". I wasn't sure if it was 1 tap or hold so I held it and it synced. After that, everything worked beautifully.
I appreciated that the body transmitter was easy to use. Hold the top button for power (green), push once for mute (orange), and again for unmute (green). On the side there's a gain switch for mic (high), 0 (medium), -10db (low). the "0" level was the best because mic was too loud and pitchy.
The lavaliere mic was great. I originally thought it would pick up too many other ambient sounds since it's a condenser mic but even with the band playing in the back the speaker was the only voice captured in the mic. there were no pops from "p" sounds and it did not have ruffling sounds on the shirt/jacket (I did not put on the wind screen which is quite big and odd looking). All we received was clear sound.
The other good thing about this model (transmitter) is that you can use 3 different lavaliere mics: WL93 (which it came with), the higher end WL185, or the lower end PG185 which comes with the PG14/PG185.
WL93: $80, WL185: $100. PG185:$40.
Having loved the countryman, I am now completely fine with the above options. Countrymans break and cost $400+ just to replace the mic (yes just the mic!). I don't know how the lower end PG185 is, but I assume it's Shure clear. So for $40-$100 to replace a lavaliere mic, I would gladly choose this over and over again! And Shure will be the brand of choice over and over again.

Acoustic Research ARWH2 2.4 GHz Mini-Bridge Stereo Headset (Silver) Review

Acoustic Research ARWH2 2.4 GHz Mini-Bridge Stereo Headset (Silver)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Wow. I cannot think of a single negative to say about this product. It has simply exceeded my expectations in every conceivable way. I needed something with which to conduct presentations on the road where I could hear on-line participants and communicate with them independent of the classroom participants. This little item is absolutely perfect.
It arrived 4 days before the earliest estimated arrival date.
The item is sleek, visually nice to look at, and, well, perfect in its function.
The buttons are all just where you need them to be, and they have the perfect haptic feedback, small click, etc.
The multi-function LED is colored just the way my mind works, flashing while charging, red as the battery gets lower, blue during operation, flashing blue for mute, etc...
Mic sound on Skype calls is clear, robust, with no static at all according to my customers.
I seriously can't find a flaw with it yet. The range is what you would expect from a tiny radio, I wouldn't recommend this for walking around the house, but if you're in the same room it's perfect.
If you already have a "generic USB audio device" installed on your Windows PC, then you may get confused because this will use the same drivers, so it will appear in your list of playback/recording devices as the first installed device. Doesn't affect the function AT ALL, just the name on the screen, and you can change that by tweaking some settings in your Windows sound settings.
I cannot believe I found this device and for 25 bucks, it's an absolute STEAL!
AND, you can plug whatever headphones, earbuds, etc. that you want into the receiver because it has a 3.5mm jack, so you're not restricted to using the (perfectly adequate) included earbuds.
I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! Easily one of my all-time favorite purchases of electronic equipment, it's like someone read my mind on what I needed & wanted a product to do and then packaged it all up in a beautiful little device, and included a very sturdy travel case to boot!
In a word - Perfect.

Shure WH20TQG Dynamic Headset Microphones Review

Great product. This is a headset I use while teaching Aerobics. Only reason I needed to replace is sweat deteriorated the cable.

Click Here to see more reviews about: Shure WH20TQG Dynamic Headset Microphones

The Shure WH20 is a rugged, lightweight, dynamic headset microphone that provides high-quality voice pickup. It fits securely for active microphone users, such as aerobics instructors and musicians, with low visibility for stage appearances. Suitable for any voice communications application where comfort and reliability are required. The WH20 has a cardioid (unidirectional) pickup pattern. This provides greater gain-before-feedback and isolation from ambient noise and other unwanted sound sources, such as air-conditioning, musical instruments and loudspeakers. A carefully shaped frequency response includes a voice-frequency presence peak and a low-frequency rolloff to compensate for the proximity effect inherent in cardioid microphones during close-talk operation. An integrated elastic headband secures the headset comfortably. The headband, wireframe, and gooseneck are adjustable to accommodate any head size or shape. WH20 is supplied with foam windscreen and clothing clip.

Audio Technica PRO-88W Wireless Microphone System (171.045 and 171.845 MHz) Review

Audio Technica PRO-88W Wireless Microphone System (171.045 and 171.845 MHz)
Average Reviews:

This wireless lapel microphone, transmitter, and receiver works well for close quarters shooting. The 9 volt batteries can last up to 8 hours.
The sound quality of this mic is very good. But there are some issues. The RF signal is weak and I have experienced interference issues when the transmitter was covered by a suit jacket with the subject located fifteen to twenty feet away from the transmitter while other RF devices are present in the immediate vicinity. So Far I have documented four events with this set and I have experienced white noise and interefernce at two of those events. I did not experience sonic interference the entire time but once in a while a bit of static would build up and then fade away over 20 to 60 seconds of time. This seemed to depend on the movement of the subject wearing the transmitter crossing the path of other RF (radio frequency) transmitting devices. For that reason I have decided to purchase a higher end unit for Business and Wedding video shoots. I am still going to use this mic for studio interviews and on location shooting where my subject will never be more then 10 feet away when I have the luxury time to work out any interference issues.
All in all, I do like this wireless mic set because it is easy to work with and fills a a particular niche for beginning Videographers. The Pro-88 came with a few extra things that helped. These include; a single ear bud that allows the camera operator to monitor the audio signal as its being recorded, two detachable belt clips for the transmitter and the receiver, a camera shoe mounting bracket for the transmitter if you would rather attach it to the camera, four strips of Velcro, and two strips of soft foam for resting the transmitter on an inclined surface.
I recommend this wireless lapel microphone system for small budget projects and as a possible back up for small events and venues. However I would suggest saving up and buying a pro series of wireless lav mics for weddings and corporate events.

Nady DKW Duo VHF Handheld Wireless Microphone System (Channel B and D) Review

Nady DKW Duo VHF Handheld Wireless Microphone System (Channel B and D)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My wife and I were looking for something we could get the children that would work half way decent. All the children's microphone we ever purchased didn't. I don't think this was made for children but it should be painted red, pink, or blue and marketed for children. Most children's products cost more and don't come close to the quality. Plus you get two microphones(no fighting for our two kids). Awesome product for children, can't vouch for professionals. Drawbacks for the parent user is that it comes with a 1/4" plug which most home systems don't have. We had to go to Radio Shack and buy a 1/4" to RCA adapter. Also, the microphones have an on/off switch and if left on 24/7 the 9 volt battery will not last long. Children aren't the best on being responsible about turning things off after they're finished. Stock-up! Very pleased overall.

Wireless Lapel Microphone E01, Transmitter/ Receiver/6.3 & 3.5mm Camcorder Adptr Review

Wireless Lapel Microphone E01, Transmitter/ Receiver/6.3 and 3.5mm Camcorder Adptr
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am a professional musician and do mainly weddings. Most of my clients choose to add on a sound system option I offer, and many have requested a wireless lapel mic for their officiant to use. I have been on the hunt for a good lapel mic for several months and had to return the first I bought (the Hisonic lapel mic) because it's sound quality was terrible and it did not pick up a voice unless it was less than an inch away from the mic (so much for being on the lapel!) Because of that experience, I was nervous about buying this one, but am delighted to say that the Upright Clip-On Lapel microphone is absolutely terrific!! It picks up the voice with no problem, even from a foot away - and it's loud! The sound quality is clear. I am so happy to have found this mircophone! And what an amazing deal, no less, for such a good product!
