(More customer reviews)This is the best and most afforable headset system for a motorcycle - once you set it up properly. This is not an easy system to setup for me. The instructions that came with the system are the worst ever. The Parrot WEB site does have a much better manual on line that is a free PDF download, but even this manual needs to be much better.
The first set I couldn't get it to work and since I wasn't sure if I was working it right I didn't know it. I called Parrot Customer Service and after trying a few things, they said the headset was bad and to return it to the vendor. It was a big pain trying things out and taking the helmet on and off to talk on the phone to figure this out. I contacted the vendor and the Amazon seller did exchange it no problem.
The second headset I received I tested before I installed it in my helmet. I would recommend you test the system before you put it in your helmet to be sure it works. I had a problem with the remote. It turned out to be a dead batter in this new headset so I had to buy a battery to get it going. I did my sync with the bluetooth on my cell phone, which was easy for me, and the system was ready to go. I installed it in my helmet and took a test ride. I had to do some adjusting with the ear pieces so they didn't hurt my ears (rubbing) and so I could still hear them. I found the right spot and now the helmet is confortable and I can hear them just fine. I'm sure every helmet will be a different fit.
Calling and receiving telephone calls was a breeze. The remote works great (with a new battery). The sound quality of the calls couldn't be better. I was told I sounded better on the Parrot than I do when I use the phone normally. They can only hear my voice and no motorcyle noise or wind noise at all.
I didn't care about the radio or line-in features, but they do work fine. I prefer to wear in-ear headphones to listen to music on my iPod as it also reduces the noise of the motorcycle and road noise. I use the radio feature to adjust the volume so when the phone rings or I'm using the phone I can hear it. Dispite the ear plugs I can hear the phone just fine. Now on the long rides family and friends can reach me or I can reach them without stopping. What a life saver for someone like me who takes frequent trips of 300+ miles a day.
Because of the poor instructions and problems setting up the Parrot, I gave the Parrot four stars. Once it worked it is worth five starts as it works great and is half the cost of other headsets out there for motorcycle helmets.
